IT IS OURS. Tlie Water Work* Accepted by the City Council and It now belong* J to The <Tty. At the adjourned session ot the council which met last Friday even ing, a resolution was introduced accepting the water works. The resolution was adopted with but one dissenting' voice. The people ol our city are at liberty now to tap the mains, whenever and wherever they choose. ‘ Let the water fly, it belongs to us. It is to be hoped that all the consumers possible will take water at once in order to swell the city exchequer as we need it badly, for the present administration has left the treasury in a sadly- depleted condition. Now give us tire protection. Re organize the fire department and give to our citizens the best volunteer fire company possible. By do ing this you will be able to save the taxpayers part of their insurance rate, and thus to a certain extent make them feel proud of our present water system. We lift our hats to the water works. Editor Democrat: Dear Sir:—As the Journal man did not attempt to answer my ques tion why the council imposed the fifty cents additional expense on the people for waterworks, »e will sav to him that calling people cowards and names does not answer a fair, logical question. Then look for the “beam in thine own eye** and then see who the coward is; name the man who you intimate is not a good mechanic and see if this same council did not license* him to do plumbing in our city. Crawl out from behind your evasive way and say in plain language what you mean. If the man you dare not name is not a master workman, you say so, and at the same time say why the council give him a license to do plumbing., Harrison wagon, the lightest running wagon on the market.
