Teeple is in receipt of a Trinidad, Colo., paper with the account of the drowning of his grandson, Charlie Westerfield. The accident happened by the boy falling into a hole while playing on the ice. His companions did not say anything ab out it until about eight hours after it occurred. The store and dwelling atta bed at Pleasant Mills, owned by A M. Fuller and occupied by A. J. There were short funeral services at the house this morning conducted by Rev. W. L Alexander assisted by Rev. E. T. Gregg, before taking the remains to the C. & E. depot to be taken to OSsion for interment. The funeral will be held at Ossiou to-mor-row afternoon, a 2 m. Services will be conducted by Rev Gregg. George W. Archbold, of Markle, Sundayed in the city. He came in request to a summons announcing the condition of his daughter, Mrs. Adolph Hart. Two daughters of Mr. Roush, of Bluffton, and nieces of B. L. Hale, who have been the guests of Mr. Hale’s family for several days, returned home last night. By the Cincinnati -Enquirer we see that W. C. Miller, a grandson of Samuel Schafer, of St. M Urys township, suicided at Jacksonville, Florida, byshooting himself through the head. No cause is assigned for the deed. Undoubtedly the biggest and heaviest horse that was ever brought to the Decatur market was the one brought in by Alphonse Kohne last week. Its weight being nineteen hundred and fifty pounds, and will not be four years old until next June. The wife ot Joel Hudson filed a complaint on last Saturday charging him wit incest with hl:; second “daughter, Susie, which caused his arrest. Hit bond was fixed at SSOO for his appearance before bis honor, the Mayor, for preliminary examination which was set for Jan. 17,1895. There were quite a large number of protestants both old and young attended the services at the Catholic church last night. G. Chilcote was engaged last night with a large number of young people, and while playing a play called “Crack-loo” he collided with some party or.parties and knocked some distance, recieving a very severe toll, dislocating his left shoulder. He soon discovered the condition of his injury and called several voung men to his aid, they Immediately pulled the ajmj causing the shoulder to slip back to its ' place. Fifty-six years ago a lad then twelve years old was skating on the St Marys river, this being the first pair of skates that was known in the county. “Uncle Jake” had made arrangements to show the young bloods of today bow they skated here in olden times. While we h ive missed a great treat, yet the snow is welcomed by the people in general in this part of God's heritage. A very enjoyable and sociable party was given to the young people ne »r the Washington church by Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Miller, in honor of the Misses Minnie and Mary Reed, of Columbus, - Ohio.
