Hicks’ Predictions. In his predictions tor weather for November, Prophet Hicks says: “November, as implied in the closing predictions for October, will arrive with red cheeks and frosted ears in all sections to northward. About the sth, and 6th dangerous gales and storms on sea and lake. They will gain strength by their tardiness. There will be, from 9th to 14th, snow in the north, rain in all central and southern parts and a blast of early winter will wind up the ball everywhere, varying, of course, in degree in northern and southern sections. About the 17th and 18th a reaction to warmer with returning storms may be expected, followed promptly by renewed west and north winds, with cold. The 21st to 25th is the next period. This will bring warmer weather, the wind will shift to southerly, the barometer fall and storminess will ensue. Cold will follow each storm period and sep arate it from the succeeding period by higher barometer and brisk winds from west and north. The most destructive gales £long the Atlantic will be easterly to northeasterly, while the barometer is depressed to west and south of that region.- On and touching the 27th and 28th look for return of heavy storms. The new moon is on the morning of the 27th and brings a storm crisis within twenty-four hours of its passage between us and the sun. November, like its two predecessors, will go out as a wintry wave comes in. Some Things to Try. Try carnberries for malaria. Try a sun-bath for rheumatism Try ginger-ale for stomach cramps. Try clam-broth for a weak stomach. Try swallowing saliva when troubled with a sour stomach. Try a wet towel at the back of the neck when sleepless. Try buttermilk for removal of freck-1 les, tan and butternut stains. Try to cultivate an equable temper, and don’t borrow trouble ahead. Try hard cider—a wineglassful three times a day for ague and rheumatism. Notice of Final Settlement of EMate.
