Mr. It. was located here in that business a few years ago and is a practical harness-maker. He has fitted up a room in the building of Leo Henman. Jessie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Reynolds, died on Monday morning, age 7 years. 5 months and I:'> days. Funeral at the Christian church on Tuesday, conducted by Rev. W 11. Turney. Smith closed his protracted effort at this place last Friday evening, on account of the inclement weather. That would-be Christmas tree at the M. E. church is a fizzle. That quiet wedding will eome off at the closing of the old year. Rev. John Freeman will commence a series of meetings here next Tuesday evening. Ye Itemizer had the pleasure of calling on Bev. 1). B. Reckard and wife the latter part of last week at their home in Linn Grove, and found them in moderately good TSRIfh. The Rev. gentleman was a resilient of Pleasant Mills for a number of years and pastor of ihe Baptist cliurch at this place. We would lie pleased to have him with u- agin. Mrs. Henry Jackson whose sickness was mentioned week died Saturday morning. Funeral services were conducted Monday ' forenoon at Mt. Tabor church by Rev. Freeman. She leaves a husband and six children to mourn her departure. May she rest in peace. —

The stock dealers of Decatur have shipped of hogs cattle, sheep and horses over two thousand head from this market in the past ten days. Beat that if you can. Tlie County Auditor has been notified by the State Auditor that his settlement with the State for the semiannual collections has lieen received and placed on the correct list, being first to settle. Bev. Alexander, of Decatur, the gentleman who occupied the pulpit at the Presbyterian church Sunday was greeted by two good audiences. Both sermons were pronounced first-class by his hearers. Bluffton Chronicle. Decatur has shown some of its old time activity in the last three days. The streets have been thronged "with teams bringing the farmers produce to market, and the merchants have been just as ready to meet them aud purchase their produce and furnish them with al! the Christmas goods wanted on such occasions. The question of who is going to be the next Postmaster seems to be agitat ing the minds of about thirty aspirants ror the position. The time is drawing close wheh the appointment will be made, and those whaare left will be very likely to do some solid cussing. But don't get mad. boys, there is lots of time yet. four years will soon pass around and then you can have another whack at the Government Plum.
The burglary committed in Ebinger A Meyers' stoye at Willshire, Ohio, is supposed to have been done between one and two o'clock in the morning, as a light was seen in the building about that time The robbery was not discovered until the store was opened by the clerk in the morning. Mr. Ed. Ehinger was telegraphed, who immediately went to Willshire, and after a careful examination found that there had been about seventy-five dollars' worth of clothing in various articles taken- No jclue to the perpetrators. The 40 hour Adoration exercises held at the Catholic church of this place commenced on Sunday the 17, inst. was conducted by Father Wilkins, assisted by Bev. P. 11. Hartman ot Coldwater. Ohio. Rev. The meetimg was well attended and several able sermons delivered aud highly appreciated by the congragatian: the services were concluded on Wednesday last. Mr. J. I’. Blaize. an extensive real estate dealer in Iles Moines Jowa, narrowly escaped one of the severest attacks of pneumonia while in the northern part of that state during a recent blizzard, says the Saturda.' Review. Mr. Blaize had occasion to drive several miles during the storm and was so throughly chilled that he was unable to get warm, and inside of an hottre after his return he was threatened with a severe case of pneumonia or lung fever. Mr. Blaize'sent to the nearest drug store and got a bottle of Chaniljerlain’s Cough Reined). of which he had often heard, and took a numlier of large doses.
