NEIGHBORHOOD NEWS. Honduras Hooting. Lougenbarger Bros.’ are erecting a large barn for Marquis Jahn. The schools at this place have commenced their summer term. Ashbaucher Bros.' have been running their saw mill this week. Falk & Co., will begin to burn tile soon. On Sunday evening of last week some one made his way into the residence of Jehn Captain and pocketed a watch and other articles belonging to Wm. Hartman. Last Monday evening William Fulk arrived at the squire's office with Burt King under arrest, and being dismissed. King left the house witli very few words. Pleasant Mills Mention. Considerable sickness at present. Born to Joseph D. Winans and wife on June Ist-a boy. Mother and baby doing well. Miss Edith Porter, of Decatur, visited with Mabel Winans several days last week. A party of five in number with Rev. Freeman as leader, started to the reservoir on a fishing expedition last Monday week and returned homii Tuesday. They report having caught several fish with a silver hook. Prof B. Winans’ smiling face was again visible in our midst. He returned last week from Marion. Miss Maggie Smith, of Decatur, who is visiting friends and relatives here has been on the sick list the past week. Dr. J. W. Vizard is attending her. The Saints meeting at the school building on Sunday evening of last week, was abruptly disturbed by several young men and ladies. You had better took a little out, as there is strong talk of a prosecution. They have your names. A word to the wise is sufficient. On Tuesday of last week a party from our neighboring town, Dixon, Ohio, came over on a fishing expedition and a jolly time was liad. The participants were Dr. J. D. Morgan and wife, J. W. Songwell and wife. John Hooper and wife and F. Winans and wife. All started home to wait until the fishing season is more favorable. Monroe No- 2J. B. Roop was here visiting friends and parents over Sunday. Mrs. Dr. Andrews is rapidly Improving. John Jefferies is the happiest man in Monroe. He cannot sing, but he can whistle “She is my Anna. I’m her Pa.” He says it cannot be beat. J. H. Hendricks started for Kentucky last Monday morning. Mr. Hendricks is looking up a location for a hub factory. Reckard and wife. Joseph Conroy, of Hobart, Lake county, Ind., was circulating among his friends last Sunday week. Mr. C. can be termed a self-made young man, and but a few years since a lad of this place. He holds the position of associate principaljof the schools of the above named place. During vacation, he with Prof. High, will conduct a Normal at Bluffton, Ind., which commences this week, While Wm. Howe and John S. Anderson, leasers of land for oil, were driving along the road west of Domestic, their horse was killed by an electric stroke. The occupants of the buggy were much shocked and burnt by the fluid, the former on the arm and the latter on the leg. When restored to consciousness they found themselves seated in the vehicle looking at each other, neither being able to Inquire of the other as to which side of the great river they were soliciting territory on, when presently they beheld in Hie d) Btance an oil derrick, and inasmuco as they never had known of them boring forollonthe other side of the shining shore, they hired another horse and went their way, when the next morning found them following tfeeir daily routine of business with blistered limbs, The call was a close one.
