Teeple and family left for Cedarville, Ind., yesterday, visiting relatives and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Gentner, are the happy parents of a girl baby—born Sunday morning. Mr. and Mrs. Moser and daughter, of Sarana, Ohio, are the guests of Mrs. Moser’s sister, Mrs. Wm. Myers. George Ames, of Fort Wayne, was here over Sunday with friends. He formerly was a resident of this county. Miss Rhoda Durbin will leave to-mor-row for Portland, Ind., where she will remain during the forepart of the winter visiting with he grandma. Mrs. J. A. Nachtrieb, mother of Wm. Nachtrieb, accompanied by her daughter, arrived last Saturday, from Blissfield, Michigan. They will spend some time visiting here. Rathbone Temple, of Fort Wayne, Pythian Sisters, about 20 in number, visited Eureka Temple at this place last Monday. A very pleasant time was had by all present. From one man they stole eighty bushels of wheat and a large quantity of oats; from another they took corn, from another meat and household goods; stock has also disappeared. Mr. Fred Pyle editor of the Geneva Herald narrowly escaped instant death, , Monday evening, last. While out quail hunting in comj any with a man named Finch, the two became separated. Finch saw a quail fly up, and shot a' it, Ths en tirq loa'd of shot struck Pyle, and his face, neck and breast were well filled with the ( leaden pellets. Pyle is in a precarious condition. A repo ted outbreak of choldra at Helmetta, N. J., created much in that vicinity. Investigation showed that the disease was not cholera but a violent ' dysentery which is almost as severe and dangerous gs chq|era. hsr. Frank drives a span of nice horser, and attired in fair leather harness, they were very attractive. Our people will be pained to hear of the death of that Christian lady, Mrs. D. L. Myers, formerly of this place. Her death occutred two weeks ago at their home in Herstberg, Tennessee. Mrs. R. Our Republican exchanges have commenced the sympathy racket. Mrs. Harrison’s serious illness gives them a chance to make an appeal of this kind. By a little trouble they can set them on tables instead of the walks. What is the matter that such a streak h2s .come on them; everything else is let run. Lieutenant W. A. Wisner returned last Monday from Kansas. While there he saw some'of the voters register. He has a brother-in-law who lives there who is a republican, who told him that they brought from Missouri sixty “niggers” and voted them in five different wards at the same election, and they had a number of men who worked ent gangs that wav.
