rfE DECATUR DEMOCRAT BY A. J. HILL. i — » FRIDAY Jl-LY I A, Yn.iow fever has advanced its lines along ’he Gulf of o. Everybody o lieved the Star Routers guilty hut the jury that tried then',. The Republicans vi Ohio do not know how to bat the Scott law so as to make a safe first base hit. Ohio Democrats are alive this fan and working with enthusiasm. It means the election of Hoadley. Arthur is trying his har d at political architeetuie. He is trying to build a harmonious Republican partyThe material principally used in the structure is official soap and things. It is thought he will succeed about as well as Guiteau. Dorsey’s Star Route trial seems to have enshrined him in the hearts ol his Republican friends. The latest thing is that a Republican club in Washington glorified him in speeches reminding him of his connection with past political victories. Next in order those darkeys will, politically speaking, call him Saint Dorsey. PLEASANT MII.I.S* ITKHS. BY NORRIS HOMO. The making of•’clover hay is now in fashion. Adam Ault is still building. The ordinary boy is now busy in completing plans for a fill of cherries. The harvesting of wheat is now at hand. We were mistaken in the ownership of the mill on John P. Blaney s farm, in our last items, it belongs to W. RSantley it Co. )ur N. G. B. was visiting in Marion, Ind., on th* 4tb. Dr. Lipse Snndayed with his parents in Alien county. A nan that will cut down cherry trees to procure the fruit is a very bad man. Such a man lives in Pleasant Mills. Mr. Levy Shafer resii iug two miles north, met with quite a serious accident on last Monday afternoon. In get* ting on a wagon containing hay lad tiers he’slippcd and fell, striking his timrer on a beard with such force as to cut it entirely off at the first joint. Some of our boys were in attend ance at the concert at Decatur on las. Monday evening. C. R. Hammell started his mill again on Monday lam. Again we are called upon to chronicle the arrival of another citizen in our quiet little village, although the name we have not learned yet it was taken in and kindly cared for by the well known party E. D. Stotler, its a hoy. Some of our soldiers have as they term it, a pension at their hand. Fredline & Co. are gaining popularity daily. Mr. Bird Billinan was visiting with friends in Van Wert county, this week. Joe Foster, of \ an Wert, Ohio, was in town Tuesday. Music by the Molika .-tring band is immense.
