But the committee failed to mention the name of Bev. Bicknell, of .Monroe, of whom their worthy president made mention as assisting in the opening service, and delivering an address in the afternoon. We can not for a moment harber the idea that, the committee intended a personal slight to the Bev. Bicknell. Nor do we suppose that the services of Mr. Bicknell was not appreciated by the school. But the return of thanks in behalf of the school makes a bad showing, and is calculated to bring reflection to the mind of a sensative man, as to whether the slight was intentionally or not. If the omission of the name of Rev. Bicknell was not intentionally, we think the committee in behalf of the school, should make amends by publication in The Democrat. James N. Smith. Our farmers and owners of stock now have a chance to procure a copy of Navin’s Explanatory Stock Doctor,” now being canvassed for in Adamt county by Mr. J. Baxter, wiio is the authorized agent. It is a valuabh work, ami should be in the hands ci every stock owner. 4ts “Moke food and less medicine, mon of nourishment and strength, less oi the debilitating influence of drugs is what our feeble and exhausted coustitutions require,’ said Baron Liebig, when he perfected the composition of '-Malt Bitters. aug26w4
