26 PRESENT AT CHRIBIMAO DINNER rThe Ruth and Naomi circle of . the Zion United Church or Christ met in the dining room for their annual Christmas pot luck dinner. The Rev., William Feller led to prayer followed by toe group singing “O Come All Ye Faithful.” The hostesses, Mrs. Charles Meyer, Mrs. Ed Borne, Mrs. Fay Mutschler, Mrs. Ida Etepler and Mni. Carl Adler, furnished the chicked, rolls and coffee. There were 20 members and six guests, Rev. and Mrs. William Feller, Mrs. Tom Adler, Mrs. Homer Hahn, Miss Ruth Harris and Mrs. Alina Reppert, present at the dinner. Mrs. Clara Meyem presented a reading, “The Church Means Much To Me,” followed with a dialogue by Lucy Elzey and Bonnie Johnson. The group sang “It Came Upon A Midnight Clear,” after which the leader, Lucy Elzey, read the scripture, The group singing of “O Little Town of Bethlehem,” was followed by readings by Anna Borne, Bonnie Johnson and Esther Hunter. -Mrs. Elzey led toe group in prayer and presented the lesson, "Changing the Pattern of the Ministry.” The chairman, Mrs. Clara Meyers conducted the business meeting. It was voted id give 50 dollars to the Guild. There were 26 sick calls and 24 social calls made by hte group. The meeting closed with all members Joining hands and repeating tigs Mizaph benediction.

Mr. and Mrs. Roy Lautzenheiser of Montpelier, are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married in Adams county December 24, 1914 at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. David Cook, now deceased. The Lautzenheiser’s have 12 children, Victor, Ohio City, O.; Dale, Chicago, Ill.; Earl, Muncie; Paul, Bluffton; David, Lexington, Ky.; Mrs. Harvey (Mary) Hileman, Wills hire, O.; Mrs. ReginMONROE BETTER HOMES INSTALLS OFFICERS The Monroe Better Homes demonstration club held their annual Christmas party at the Jet Grill with 25 members and guests present. Mrs. Wilbur Stanley gave the dinner prayer. The meal consisted of fried chicken and steak with all the trimmings, served family style. The tables and. ened in the Christmas theme inter taining room were decoratcluding a large Christinas tree. Following the meal Mrs. ■ tfihalmer Barkley, county president, installed the officers for the coming year in a candlelight ceremony. Die following officers were installed: president, Mrs. Richard Reinhart; vice president, Mrs. Clifford Essex; secretary, Mrs. Harold Rich; treasurer, Mrs. Erwin Stucky; publicity, Mrs. Eva Brewster; health and safety leader, Mrs. J|iraes Nupsbaum; citigenihip, Mrs. Qtto Longenberger; leader*. Mrs, Hirarft Wittwer and Mrs. MarUo Steiner; alternate leaders, Tinkham and Mrs. Wilbur Stanley; song leader, Mr*. Edward Pierce. The demotions were given by Mrs. James Nussbaum who read a Christmas story and praver was offered by Mrs. Eva Brewster. The history of the song of the month, “Deck the Halls,” was given by Mrs. Wilbur Stanley. She then led toe group in singing the song followed with several, carols sung by toe club members. A

The couple have 40 grandchildren and 3 greatgrandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. Lautzenheiser lived in Adams county until 1943 when they moved to Montpelier. Mr. Lautzenheiser retired from toe General Electric in Fort Wayne in 1957. An open house will be held at their home at 502 S. Washington street, Montpelier from 1-5 December 27. Births ju At the Adams county memorial hospital: Gerald and Judith Rydell Cook, 515% Adams street, became the parents of a 9 lb., 5 oz. baby girl at 11:37 a.m. Saturday. Thomas and Susan Burton Knuckles, 927 North Fifth street, became the parents of a 6 lb. 7 oz. baby boy at 5:25 p.m. Saturday Jay and Alice Hickey Gould. 617 Studebaker street, became the parents of a 7 lb. 3 oz. baby girl at 6:55 a.m. Sunday. Larry and Helen Hirschy Funk, route 1, Monroe, became the parents of a 7 lb., 6 oz. baby girl at 12:32 p.m. Sunday. memorial was held for ..two deceased members. Roll tall was answered with a “Famiijr Christmas Traditiop." After -a short business session, the meeting was dismissed with prayer by Mrs. Clifford Essex. Gift were exchanged, secret pals were revealed and new names were drawn for the coming year during the social hour under the direction of the hostesses, Mrs. James Nussbaum and Mrs. Gillian Stucky.

PLEASANT MILLS WBCB MEETS RECENTLY ' The Pleasant Mills WSCSsMet recently in the church dining room lor their annual Christmas meeting. Mrs. Leland Ray, president, opened the meeting. Many lovely songs in keeping with the season were sung by the group. The lesson entitled “The Birthday of a King," was given in word and song by Mrs. Ray. Mrs. Fred Bauman gave the secretary’s report Roll call was answered by 16 members. The gaily decorated dining room was the settnig for the social hour and gift exchange. The guest tables were decorated with individual corsages for each member and guest. The serving table was centered with gold candles and poinsettias. Punch, cake, nuts and Christmas candies were served to the 16 members and four guests by the hostesses, Mrs. Charles Morrison, Mrs. Will Evans and Mrs. Harvey Jones. Baker, job printer at the Decatur Daily Democrat, suffered a light heart attack of angina pectoris at his home this morning, and is bedfast for a few days. The two fifth grade classes of the Lincoln school journeyed to Baer Field, near Fort Wayne, Friday afternoon on a field trip. The classes studied the weather station at Baer Field as part of their science studies. Accompanygrade instructors, Mrs. Audrey ing the students were the fifth Bleeke and Kenneth Watkins.
