LINCOLN PTA HAS SEASONAL PROGRAM The Lincoln PTA held its annual Christmas program recently. The pledge was led by Girl Scout troop 573 and the Cub Scouts of Lincoln school. The Rev. Fuhrman Miller led the parents in prayer. A past president pin was accepted by Bill Bauman, who served as president of Lincoln PTA for two years. Mrs. Warren Druetzler, program chairman, then introduced Clint Reed, who directed grades one and two in the “Story of Silent Night,’*' and a deligh ful song, “We Wish You A Merry Christmas.” Grades three and four presented the Carols of the Races — “Come Quickly New Year,” the yellow race: “Indian Carol,” the red race! “A Rocking All Night,” the black race; and “He Shall Feed His Flock,” Ihe white race. Grade five presented “The Arabian Dance,” “Little Mule,” "Carol of the Pines,” and a story of Bach in picture and song. Grade six, directed by Miss Helen Haubold, gave “African Noel,” with John Cravens with Cathee Linn accompaning on the au‘o harp. The group's final selection was “Sliver Bells,” At the close of the program, the PTA members were urged to? attend the combined meeting January 7 a‘ 7:30 p.m. at the Northwest school. The hospitality chairman, Mrs. Darrell Cookson, presented each child and parent with a special holiday treat. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Gerber were host and hosteris Thursday evening to the county home residents at the Gerber Supermarket. The county home staff and Gray Ladies helped to serve the guests. Don Smith was the bus driver for the sight-seeing tour of Decatur. The members of the Delta Theta Tau sorority will meet at the fire station Tuesday evening at 7 o’clock to pack for the Good Fellows.

Miss Margy Ellen Weaver, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Weaver of Convoy,o., and granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Homer Raudenbush, local residents, was married recently to Basil Henry Dealey, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Dealey, also of Convoy, 0., in the Convoy Methodist church. The Rev. William Covert performed the double ring service at the altar graced with bouquets of daisy shaped mums with white satin bows marking the pews. A thirty minute musicale preS ceded the ceremony and was pre--sented by Linda Nofer, organist, mid, Linda Holden, soloist. It included selections of “Indiana "Love Call',” “O Promise Me,” “I Love You Truly,” “We’ll Walk Hand ih Hand,” “Together,” and “Because.” The bride, given in marriage by her father, appeared in a gown of taffeta, featuring a scalloped neckline, and long sleeves fastened with six tiny covered buttons. Her detachable train was fastened with a bow below her shoulders. Her fingertip veil of pure silk illusion was caught to a crown of pearls and shq dgrried a cascade murqs with deep pink streanaers. Her pendent necklace, {/pearl Secluded in a gold bell, a gift of the bridegroom. .

Mrs. Shiela Weaver, sister-in-law of the bride, served as matron of honor, and bridesmaids were Bonnie Dull, close friend of the bride, and Judy Dealey, sis-ter-in-law of the groom. They wore identical gowns of American beauty rose taffeta. Each girl carried an arrangement of carnations with American beauty rose streamers. Their pearl drop pendants were gifts of the bride. Rosina Dealey, sister of the groom, was flower girl. She wore a gown of American beauty carnations, her pendant was also a gift of the bride. Byron Dealey, brother of the groom, served as best' man and ushers were Kenneth Weaver, brother of the bride, and Larry Dealey, brother of the groom. Eddy Feasby, cousin of the groom, served as rine bearer. The bride’s mother chose a sapphire blue sheath dress with white accessories and the groom’s mother chpse a light blue dress with beige accessories. Both mothwore pink carnation corsages. A reception was held immediately following the ceremony in the church social room. Serving the guests were Barbara Speelmah and J)idy Lare, friends of the bride/and Beverly Feasby, cousin of the groom. All the girls were presented pink organdy aprons.

CLUB ELECTS OFFM3ERB FOR COMING YEAR The Rachel circle of the Decatur EUB church met recently at the home of Mrs. Harley Roop, Jr., Mrs. Melvin Tinkham was the program leader for the evening. She was assisted by Mrs. Wilbur Tinkham in giving the lesson, "My House Is Your House.” The scripture was taken from Luke 2: 1-20, and read by Mrs. Kenneth DeArmond. Mrs. Norman Koons conducted the election of officers for the coming year. Mrs. Wilbur Tinkham was elected chairman; Mrs. Guy Koos, secretary; Mrs. Melvin Tinkham, treasurer; Mrs. Kenneth DeArmond, secretary of spiritual life; Mrs. Norman Koons secretary of missionary education; and Mrs. Stan Kling, secretary of social relations. A social hour followed the business meeting and Mrs. Roop served delicious refreshments to the ten members attending. Mrs. Kenneth DeArmond will be the hostess in January. Mr?. Stan Kling will be the program leader. CORRECTION The First Methodist children’s choir will practice after the program rehearsal, not the church choir as stated in Thursday’s Democrat. '

Jailed On Warrant From Whitley County William A. Bailey, 36-year-old resident of 1203 Patterson St., was transportated today from the Adams county jail to Columbia City. Bailey was taken into custody at 12:45 a.m. Thursday by local authorities, acting on a warrant from Whitley county, where Bailey is charged with two counts of failure to provide. He was held in custody in the , local jail until picked up today by Columbia City officers. Robert Henry Counterman, 19, of route 4, Decatur, has been slated to appear in justice of the peace court January 2 by city police. Counterman was charged with speeding, traveling 60 miles an hour in a 30 zone on Adams street, at 9:50 a.m. Wednesday. Registering the guests were Barbara Wherry and recording the gifts was Etta Stewart. The bride is employed at Kroger Co., Van Wert, 0., and the groom is employed at Sears in Fort Wayne. The couple will make their home on route 1, Convoy, O.

METHODIST EVENING CIRCLE MEETS I Mrs. James Cowens was hostess to 13 memoirs of the Methodist church Evening , circle for their December meeting. A short business meeting was held by Mrs. Robert Smith. Together,’ Mrs. Joseph Azbell and Mrs. Fred Soldner presented a lovely program on the Christmas story, of the Birth of Jesus. Assisting in special parts of the lesson were. the James Cowens children, Judy and Joyce,' and playing special selections on. the piano was Nancy Basham. Neil Thomas Named Assistant Cashier Neil C. Thomas, non of Mr. and Mrs. George Thomas of south of Decatur, has been elected an assistant cashier of the Lafayette National Bank, according to an announcement by Burr S. Swezey, Jr. Thomas has been a member of the staff at the Lafayette bank for the past year. Thomas is a graduate of Decatur high school and Michigan State University. Following Army service, he was assistant recreation director for Kalamazoo, Mich., and from 1957 to 1963, was with State Farm Insurance. He is now president of the Tippecanoe county Mental Health Assn., and chairman of the public relations committee of the Tippecanoe county United Fund. He and his wife, Marilyn, are parents of four sons. Lafayette, 3 at Cincinnati, 4 at Terre Haute, 6 at Fort Wayne, Evansville and Louisville, and 9 at South Bend.
