ADAMS CENTRAL HIGH The Sunshine society is very active this Christmas season. Monday evening the lirh went caroling in Monroe and presented gifts to shut-ins, after which they returned to the school for their Christmas party. - A. C. H. S. — The Adams Central F. F. A. chapter has been competing in a pest contest which ended yesterday. The members were out for the tails of rats, muskrats, mice, groundhogs, foxes, and weasels, and for the heads of sparrows, starlings, and blackbirds. The -boys were competing for points in the chapter, and the chapter was competing against other chapters in the district. — A. C. H. S. — The Jets lost their first ball game last Friday right alter five victorious starts. We were defeated by the top-notch Ossian Bears. Although the Bears outscored Ui by 14 points, the Jets showed real hustle and determination throughout the entire game. - A C. H. S. — The Jets made a quick comeback ?fter their Friday night defeat by being victorious over the tall and talented Woodlan Warriors Saturday night. Tony Ehrsam, claiming 17 of the team’s 46 points, was leading scorer for this game. — A. C. H. S. — Thursday night our Sunshine officers,,Arlene* Parrish, Cheryl Isch, Karen Bieberich, Jane Inniger, and Rjta King, will be going to the Berne high school to install tfielr’Sunshine officers and members. A Sunshine society is just being organized at Berne. - A C. H. S. — Next Monday everfthg an operetta entitled ‘She Didn’t Believe” will be presented by the firM and second grades. Among the jhrtny characters are dolls, jumping Jacks,, wind-up toys, elves, Santas, odd toy trains. On Tuesday night the Dramatics club will be presenting its Christmas play, “Grandpa Hangs the Holly.” The public ia"ifivited to these presentations, which will both be held in the school gymnasium. - A C. H. S. — Last Saturday night at the A.C:Woodlan game the pompom girls, Ix>u Anne Tonner, Bonnie Hirschy, Ramona Merriman, Pansy Zimmerman, Kathalee Ehrsam, Sharon Bercot. and Linda Tonner, presented a halftime performance. Nice going, girls! — A C. H. S. — Gloria Engle has been chosen as Adams Central's corespondent to the Co-Ed Magazine. This will be our final game until alter Christmas vacation. — A. C. H. 8. - CRESTVIEW HIGH [ By Jesp KUson | I After six days of vacation things finally got back to finishing sixweek tests. Everyone seemed to have enjoyed the vacation. — C. H. S. — The FHA held their monthly meeting November 23. The freshmen were officialy initiated into the club. They were presented with their FHA pins and pencil by the president. A candlelight ceremony was held with the reading of the FHA purposes. » - C. H. S. — The Science club met in study hall November 23. Bonnie Miller was the speaker She told about the state science fair and the junior academy of science at the Ohio state fair. - C. H. S. - Plans for prom are already underway. The juniors announced the date and theme would be set before Christmas vacation. — C. H. S. — The annual national search for engineering aptitude in pre-college students is conducted by the junior engineering technical society. The program features a 2-hour battery of tests which may be taken by high school students in grades 9-12, inclusive. If any student is interested in taking this test he should contact Mr. Avery. — C. H. S. — The American Legion test was held Friday during regular homeroom period. The Americanism and Government program sponsored by Convoy post of American Legion. The test is divided into completion and essay, lasting for an hour. One boy and one girl from each of the four classes will be selected as a post champion. The eight winners will then.compete for county, district, ancFstate awards. ~ — C. H; S. — The freshmen posted their second straight victory this year by beating Decatur Catholic, 51-29. Crestview led all the way. High scorers for Crestview were Denny Etzler and Charlie Beahrs, each scoring 16 points. Boca was high for Decatur with 7. The team also beat Parkway. 39-27, high scorers for Crestview were Bob Motycka with 14 points and Denny Etzler with 12 points. — C. H. S. — The varsity lost to Antwerp Saturday night. Friday night’s' game was canceled due to bad weather. — C. H. S. — Basketball captains were chosen: for first period girts. They • Continued on 4-A
