TELEPHONE COMPANY HAS CHRISTMAS PARTY The Citizens Telephone company honored the operators at their annual Christmas party with a catered dinner Tuesday evening. The conference room was beautifully decorated with candles, pine cones and a Christmas tree. Following the dinner, Santa Claus made a surprise appearance distributing the exchange gifts and those from the chief operator and her assistant, Miss Laura Stanley and Mrs. Franklin Liechty, respectively. Mrs. Forrest Murray then entertained the group with slides taken on a trip to Spain and Portgual. Special guests were Mrs. Charles Ehinger, Mary Jane Runyon and Mrs. David Smith. Chairman for the occasion was Mrs. Harry Stults, assisted by Mrs. Chester Heare and Mrs. James Basse t. The K. of C. Auxiliary will have a pot luck dinner Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at the K. of C. hall. There will be a gift exchange at Mrs. Ferris Kohne’s home following the dinner. Locals Zeke Evans, local timber buyer and businessman, has been transferred to the home of his son, Edward Evans, 710 Reiter street, where he is slowly improving from a severe heart attack caused by a fall from a ladder. He had been a patient at the Adamis county memorial hospital for several weeks.

Miss Judith Lynn Brodbeck, daughter of Mrs. Ferris Bower, Decatur, and R. M. Brodbeck, Miamisburg, 0., and Stanley W. Shotts, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Shotts, route 1, Convoy, 0., were united in marriage at 4:30 p.m., Thanksgiving Day in a double ring ceremony officiated by the Rev. William C. Feller. White snapdragons and gladioli graced the altar and two seven branch candelabra, backed- by> floor vases of aqua tinted mums, decorated the Zion United Church . <Jt Christ... Where the ceremony took place. White taffeta bows and candles marked the pews. Miss Helen Haubold, Decatur, organist, and Miss Virginia Bower, New York City, soloist, presented the nuptial music at the ceremony. The bride wore a three piece white imported wool suit with white accessories. Her only jewelry was a strand of cultured pearls, a gift of the groom. Her small open pillbox hat, made from the same material as the suit, held the face veil. She wore a white orchid Corsage. Mrs. Robert N. 'Thrvrn, Lafayette,- was- her matron of honor. She chose a two piece aqua . and., white wool suit with aqua accessories. Her corsage was aqua tinted spider mums. David R. Sheets, Decatur, was best man. Four Accidents Are Reported In County No one was injured in three weekend accidents investigated by the Adams county sheriff department, and a truck driver escaped serious injury in a one-vehicle mishap early today. Vernon B. Hebble, Jr., 18, of route 5, Decatur, was charged with reckless driving and being a minor in possession of alcoholic beverages after he loist control cf his automobile on county road 28 at 2:45 a m. Hebble was northbound on the county road, five miles east of Decatur and three-tenths of a mile north of Decatur, when his vehicle slid on ice and went off the west side of the road. Deputy sheriff Warren Kneuss, who investigated, estimated damage to the car at S4OO. In city court today, Hebble was found not guilty of reckless driving and Judge John B. Stults took the minor in possession charge under advisement. Hebble pleaded not guilty to both counts. Slightly Injured Edward 'Lee McNabb, 23-year-old resident of Birmingham, Ala., received cuts and bruises at 5 a.m. today when his truck left U. S. 27, one-half mile south of Coppe>s Corners, and traveled some 300 feet before coming to rest. McNabb was northbound when his truck left the road and tore down some fence and posts on the Chris Inniger property, at route 1, Monroe. Damages were estimated at $3,500 to the truck and $75 to the Inniger property. State t.ooper Floyd Enleraing and deputy sheriffs Harold August and Warren Kneuss investigated. A 10:45 a m. In attempting to slow down, Bauman lost control of his vehicle as it skidded on a patch of ice and crossed the center line and collided with the eastbound Wittwer vehicle. Fuller, 23, route 3, Decatur; lost control of a truck on county road 38, two miles north of Decatur, at 12:41 p.m. Sunday, Fuller was operating the vehicle south on the county road when it went out of control and traveled approximately. 81 feet before coming to rest on its top. Fuler escaped without injury, but the truck, a 1963 model, received an estimated SI,OOO damage. Sheriff Singleton investigated.
