MRS. WILLIAMSON HOSTESS TO CLUB The Charity circle of the Union Chapel EUB church met at the home of Mrs. Nile Williamson. The lesson on Spanish-American neighbors, “My House is Your House,” was given by Miss Veda Williamson. “Joy to the World" was sung by the members. The Christmas story was read from the gospel of St. Luke by Frieda Williamson. The group sang "Silent Night" in Spanish, followed by offering and silent p ayers. The ladies exchanged Spanish and American recipes. The WSWS had the closing candlelight service and Veda Williamson was in charge. The business meeting was conducted by Wilma Hirschy, chairman, followed by lovely refreshments served in the dining room by Mrs. Nila Williamson. The members of the American Legion auxiliary juniors and * mothers are having a carry-in dinner at 6 p.m. at the Legion home Monday. There will be a dollar gi t exchange. HOPE CIRCLE HOLDS £ SEASONAL PARTY E The Hope Circle of WSWS' Union Chapel had a carry-in dinner last Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Koos. This was the Christmas party and the husbands were the guests for the meeting at their home, / beautifully decorated for the sea«on. Earl Chase led in prayer, follow- ' ed by Miss Brown reading the' poem, '‘My Gift.” The next* meeting will be at the home of Miss Brown, with Mrs. Robert Workinger as the program leader. Miss Marna Sue Wilson, daughter of Mrs. Norman M. Guard, 834 N. Meridian street, Portland, and Fred D. Wilson, deceased, was married to Russen DeWayne McAbee, son of Mrs. Harve Abbott, 230 Pearl street, Portland and Earl McAbee, deceased, at 2:30 p. m., August 16 at the First Methodist church in Portland. The double ring formal wedding ceremony wqg officiated by the Rev. R.. Dedn Cope, of the Westminister Presbyterian church, .Fort Wayne. White snapdragons decorated the altar and beauty vases of white snapdragons and white Fuji mums with seven branch ‘ candelabra and white bows adorned the white carpeted aisle. Mrs. Glen Preist, organist, and Glen Preist, vocalist, presented the selections: ‘'Because,” “The Lord’s Prayer,’’ and the traditional wedding marches. Given in marriage by her stepfather, the bride wore a pcau gown over bridal crinolines. The fitted bdtlice had a scoop neck line and long tapered sleeves. Her bell skirt fell to an extra long chapel' train. Hand embroidery of seed pearls accented the bodice and skirt front. Hand rolled roses accented' the back.
Her headdress was a high pearl crown with a bouffant veil of imported English illusion. She carried a center cascade of white orchids, mint green cymbidiums, dusty rosettes, stephenotis and ivy/ ' ' - . .Miss Brenda Faye Brunker was her friend’s maid of honor in a gown of mint green peau that was Boor length. The fitted bodice had a scoop neckline and short sleeves. Tlfe belled ; skirt featured a watteau panril in .the back accented with a bow. She wo.-e a butterfly headpiece with a four tier bouffant veil. Her flowers -were white fuji mums, dusty pink rosettes and ivy. Mrs. Barbara Orr and Miss Carol Wilson were the bridesmaids. They wore dresses identical to that, of the honor attendant. Rebecca Wilson arid Mester Bruce Wilson were the miniature bride and groom. Winter Concert At Monmouth Tuesday The Monmouth high school band and choir will present its winter concert at the school auditorium Tuesday evening at 7:30 O’clock. No admission will be charged but a free will offering will be received. E. Ronald Murphy is director of music at the school, and accompanists for the concert will be Nancy Fifer and Dianne Fuhrman, The program follows: “Steel King,” St. Clair; “Skip to My Flute,’* Ostling; ‘'Great Gate of Kiev,” Moussorgsky; “Autumn in New York,” Duke; “Rockin’ Rhythm,” Van Auken — Selking Is Head Os Parent-Nurse Group Richard Selking, of Decatur route 2, has been elected president of the Parent-Nurse association of St. Joseph’s hospital school of nursing in Fort Wayne. Othe-s elected were Jack K. Floyr, New Haven, vice president, and Mrs. John S. Rehrer, Fort Wayne, secretary. The association will hold a Christmas potluck supper Dec. 13. man and Chuck Wilson and lee Inman seated the guests. The bride’s mother wore a sky blue chiffon-over-taffeta dress witjju matching shoes and a pink and blue pillbox hat. The groom’s mother chose a black silk jersey with white accessories. Both mothers wore pink cymbidium orchids. A reception was held at the First Methodist church. The bride chose an all white five tier cake topped with a bride and groom. The table decorations were pink rosettes with leather leaf ferns. For their trip to Northern Michigan, Canada and Niagara Falls the bride wore a yellow crepe dress with white accessories and mint green cymbidium orchid from her bridal bouquet. The bride has an AA “degree and is studying to complete her BS degree this year. She is a second grade teaeher at St. Peter’s Southwest school in Fort Recovery, O. The groom is a graduate of Portland high school and is employed at McAbee Flooring Sunni les in Fort Recovery. The couple are residing in Fort Recovery, O.
