15 MEMBERS ANSWER ROLL CALL AT MEETING The Sdnny circle home demonstration club met Tuesday night at the Preble Recreation center for their November meeting. Mrs. Marvin Conrad, the club president, opened the meeting by leading the group in repeating the club creed. Devotions were given by Mrs. William Kruetzman and gave the history of the s6hg of the month, "For the Beauty of the Earth;’’ it was then sung by the group. “Happy Birthday” was sung to Mrs. Glen Girod. Roll call was answered by the 15 members with a Bible verse concerning “thanks.” The minutes of the previous meeting were given by Mrs. Gerhard Heckman and the treasurer’s report Was reported by Mrs. Ralph Mankey. Mrs. Clara Fuhrman gave the Sunshine report. A very Interesting lesson was demonstrated on canned fruit buying by Miss Eldora Bultemeier and she gave a quiz on "food and food buying.” The members were reminded of the Christmas party to be held at Preble Gardens, December 22 at 6:30 p.m. The' meeting closed by the -

NASH FAMILY HOLDS THANKSGIVING DINNER Guests at the Thanksgiving Dinner held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Hodle, Monroe, were Harold Nash, Sr., Mrs. Martha Sadge, Mr. and Mrs. Wilmer Nash and Lynn, Donnie and Bruce; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Nash, Jr. and Marie, Pam, Ha-old and Richard, all of Bluffton; Mrs. Nellie Hower and Pam, Debbie, Tom, Rick and Randy, Chuck James, Decatur; Mr. and Mrs. Paul Hodle and Linda, Gerald, Charles and Roger, Monroe. The after dinner guests were Mr. and Mrs. Bill Baily, Bonnie Cook, Mrs. Lily James and Don Fawcett. The Nazarene Foreign Missionary society will hold their monthly meeting Wednesday evening at 7:30 at the church which is located on the corner of Seventh and Marshall streets. The public is invited to attend.

DECATUR BELLMONT MEETING HELD TUESDAY The Decatur Bellmont home demonstration club met at the home of Mrs. Roy Biberstine Tuesday evening. Mrs. Ronald Pierce opened the meeting by leading the members in the club creed. The song of the month, “For the Beauty of the Earth," wais led by Mrs. Thomas Harrell. The roll call was answered with each member giving a Bible verse on "thanks.” The secretary’s report was read by Mrs. Joseph Call and approved by the group. Mrs. Thomas Bays was welcomed as a guest at the meeting. Following the business meeting a white elephant sale was conducted by the new treasurer, Mrs. Merlin Lister. Many odd and mysterious things were auctioned off. As a surprise ending to the meeting, Mrs. Roy Biberstine presented a cosmetic demonstration on how to apply and use make-up. She illustrated diferent hair styles and demonstrated on the members and guest. The December meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Joseph Call and all members are urged to be present because the secret , pals will be discovered at that time. DINNER AND BAZAAR TO BE HELD WEDNESDAY The annual New England dinner and bazaar will be held at the First Methodist church Wednesday. The dinner will be served from 5 to 7 p.m. There will be ham and chicken and all the trimmings to make a. good dinner, including home made mince meat pie. The bazaar will be open at 2 p.m. Die public is invited to come in the afternoon and stay for the dinner. The circles of the WSCS and Wesleyan Service Guild will have a good selection of gift items for sale. C-> FIFIETH ANNIVERSARY OBSERVED WITH DINNER Mr. and Mrs. Dorus Stalter observed their fiftieth wedding anniversary with a dinner at their home Sunday. They were married in Kalamazoo, Mich., by the Rev. Issiae Wilson on November 28, 1914. The couple have four sons, Dorus Stalter, Deming, N. Mex.; Dale Stalter, Garrett; Maj. Robert Stalter, retired, Tacoma, Wash.; Milo Stalter, World War H casualty. They have seven grandchildrenand four great-grandsons. Speed Delivery Os Dividends To Vefs WASHINGTON (UPI) —President Johnson has seen to it that some 4,725,000 veterans will start the new year off with a cheek from the government—their share of the $224.5 million in GI insurance dividends. Johnson issued an order to the Veterans Adminis’ration to speed delivery of the checks. The first dividends will start arriving in the mail Jan. 1, the White House said in an announcement Sunday. Last year dividends totaling $229 million were paid out in a record breakng eight days to ve'erans of World Wars I and 11. In ordering the speed - up, Johnson again altered the traditional practice of making the payments if the anniversary dates of the policies. This will be the third year for the speedup. Columbia City Child Second Fire Victim COLUMBIA CITY, Ind. (UPI) — The second of two children burned when flames swept their trailer home Friday died Sunday in Whitley County Hospital. Three - month -old Matthew Mark Jackson, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Jackson, died Sunday. His brother, Kenneth, 2, was killled when flames swept their trailer near here. Probing Break-in At Monmouth School Deputy sheriff Harold August was investigating this morning a Small Farm Shed Is Destroyed By Fire Local firemen made only one •‘run” during the past weekend, although they were called to stand Vy at Sunday morning's Pennsylvania railroad derailment The only fire “run”' came around 10:30 a. m. Saturday when firemen were called to the home of Elbert Scheumann, rout? 1, Decatur, when a small shed caught fire. The shed was destroyed but firemen prevented the blaze from spreading to a nearby barn. County Council In Session Here Today The Adams county council met today at the courthouse to review departmental requests for fund transfers and additional appropriations.
