Agler Orach The Cardinal fortunes will be guided this season by Tom Agler, former head coach at Hartford Center in Adams county for a number of years. Agler replaces Jerry Augsburger who left the school last year after a conflict with school officials. Augsburger, in an open letter to the public published in two southern Adams county papers, The Stilt Nets 62 r S. F. Trims Royals By United Press International You can’t keep a good man down — and that -goes double when referring to Wilt (The Stilt) Chamberlain. The Stilt, recently recovered from a pancreas ailment which sidelined him throughout much of the National Basketball Association’s early action, took a giant step towards his accustomed position atop the scoring leaders Sunday night by netting 62 points to lead the San Francisco Warriors to a 122-106 victory oved the Cincinnati Royals. 'Die total was but three shy of the Cincinnati Garden record which he owns. Fledgling Coach Dave Deßusschere suffered his first defeat since taking over the reins of the Detroit Pistons last week as the Los Angeles Lakers rebounded from a 10-point deficit to win, 111-105. Jerry West led the Laker effort with 36 points, while Elgin Baylor contributed 22. PlayerCoach Deßusschere paced the Pistons with 28 points. The victory, which was the 10th in 14 games for the Lakers, cemeted their first place lead in the Western Division of the NBA. Parnell! Nips Foyt To Cop Ascot 100 GARDENA, Calif. accused school administrators of downgrading his reputation and that of other teachers in the system. ’ Agler has only one returning letterman, but he’s a good one, Ron Bollenbacher, a 6-2 senior. Eagles Need Win Monmouth, with a host of inexperienced players, will be looking for their first victory after a pair of losses. The Eagles were soundly thumped at Ossian in their season opener, and then dropped a 64-50 decision at Hoagland last Friday night. Coach Don Elder’s charges did show an improvement in their second game, however, and the friendly home floor may make them even tougher to handle this week. Jets Play One otter Adams County team is in action this week. The de> fending sectional champion Adams Central Jets resume their schedule in an engagement with Lancaster Central at the Monroe gymnasium. After squeaking out a 68-61 win over Leo in their season opener on November 6, the Jets returned to the practice sessions for two weeks of drills in preparation for the Lancaster Central invasion. The other two teams in the county, Decatur’s Yellow Jackets and toe Berne Bears, wait one more week before they open firing. Cubs, Cats Play Hoagland and Monroeville also have games on tap this week, with the Cubs playing a pair. New coach Lee DeTurk, still looking for his first victory after two starts, sends his Cubs against rugged Ossian Tuesday night at the Monroeville gymnasium. The Cubs play their second game of the week Friday night when they invade Arcola and the Aces. Coach John Boyer’s Hoagland quintet, with a perfect 3-0 record, face a strong challenge in keeping that record unblemished Friday night when they travel to Fort Wayne to meet a good Bishop Luers team. Colts Need One Victory, Browns Need Two, After Sunday Games

By TTM MORIARTY UPI Sports Writer Make it one for the Colts... two for the Browns. Those are the magic numbers needed to bring together Baltimore and Cleveland for the first time in a National Football League championship game. The Colts can clinch their first Western Division crown in five years by beating the Rams next Sunday at Los Angeles while the Browns need only two victories in their remaining four games to wrap up the Eastern Division pennant and the host team berth in the playoff, Dec. 27. Long Midwest Drought Eased By Showers By United Press International A vast storm network socked Arizona and Nevada with heavy snow today and sent welcome thundershowers sweeping across the Midwest to ease the long drought. Swirling snow that cut visibilities to 100 feet stymied the search for a Bonanza airliner with 28 persons aboard that disappeared Sunday night on its landing approach to McCarran Field in Las Vegas, Nev. A second Bonanza passenger flight made a safe unscheduled landing at Nellis Air Force Base near Las Vegas. Up to 15 inches of snow piled up in the mountains of Montana and Colorado. The weather bureau issued warnings to motorists and stockmen from New Mexico to the Canadian border. The snow storm — described as the worst in Nevada since 1949—a150 hampered the search for a 48-year old nurse missing on a solo flight in the Battle Mountains, Nev., area. It was blamed for the deaths of a Colorado motorist whose auto skidded off an icy highway and of a North Dakota man struck by a skidding truck. Snow was expected in northern Texas today and colder air in New England and the Midwest. The weather bureau warned of possible freezing rain mixed with snow in northern New England. Illinois and Kapsas took the brunt of heavy rains Sunday. A tornado-like wind at Fall River, Kan., overturned five trailer homes and damaged cabins and boats along the Fall River Reservoir. No injuries were reported. At Charleston, 111.,’ an inch of rain relieved a two-week water shortage that had brought a ban on car washing. Lightning bolts during a near IMt inch rainfall knocked out power in parts of Chicago. The rains washed out forest fire dangers in Wisconsin and Kentucky. Alexandria, La., got nearly 4 inches of rain during the night and the inch of rain that fell on Indianapolis, Ind., provided the first substantial amount there since Oct. 18. Omaha, Neb., re- . ported about half an inch of moisture and San Antonio, Tex., nearly an inch. Kansas City, Mo., had 1% inches. v

Revenge Victory A 17-14 revenge victory over the Minnesota Vikings Sunday enabled the Colts to open a game lead in the western sector with only four left to play. It gave Baltimore a 9-1 log for the season while the Detroit Lions and the Los Angeles Rams, who both lost, remained tied for second with 5-4-1 records. The Browns (8-1-1) pulled 2t4 games ahead of second place St. Louis (5-3-2) in the East when they whipped Detroit, 3721, while the Cardinals settled for a 10-10 standoff against the New York CUtesM, •Old pros Jonnny Unites and Lenny Moore and substitute end Alex Hawkins teamed up to help the Colts avenge their lone loss of the season to the Vikings. Unitas pegged a third period touchdown pass to Moore that covered 74 yards and put Baltimore ahead, 10-0. It was the 13th straight game in which Moore had scored at least one TD — an NFL record. Then, after Minnesota had barged ahead, 14-10, the Colts pulled it out on a 27-yard strike from Unitas to Hawkins, who was filling in for injured Ray Berry.
