Lehman. ? All the city’s new sewers have been installed'and the necessary connections made. Sewage from the city is now emptying into one of the new sewage lagoons built northeast of Berne. Lehman said that, except for ,clean-irp work and the necessary street repairs, the project is completed. The installation cost well over a half-million dollars and is designed to provide relief from flash floods as well as taking care of the sewage problem. General contractor for the sewer installation was the Fate Construction company of Fort Wayne. The Merlin W. Habegger Construction company of Berne did the work on the lagoon installation. Funds for the project were raised by a bond issue, The bonds will be retired with revenue from the city’s water and sewage funds.
