To Bum Mortgage Al Antioch Church The Antioch Lutheran church, Hoagland, will have a special service of thanksgiving Sunday at 10 a.m. This will be a mort-gage-burning of the building debt of 630,000, incurred in 1958 when the congregation erected a 28 x 48 educational building in addition to remodeling of the
original church structure. The educational building includes room for seven church school classes, a large Junior worship and fellowship room, and modern restrooms. Taking part in the special service Sunday will be the church council of 1958, Lamber Kraft, John Schieferstein, Vernon Affolder, Al Trosin, William North and Raymond Saalfrank; the building committee, Albert Bergdall, chairman, Mrs. Alvina Trosing, Mrs. Marilyn Saalfrank and
Mrs. Marie Emenhiser. The pressent ' Chuifch council will also be recognized: Marion Roberts, Tom Schlemmer, John Morton, Russell Jones, Austin Bergdall, Raymond Saalfrank, Ben Ruhl and Victor DePew. The adult chancel choir, directed by the church organist, Mrs. Lloyd Brown, and the youth choir, directed by Miss Linda Bergdall and accompanist Mrs. Florence Davenport, will sing special anthems of praise.
In addition to paying the building debt in full during the past six years, the Antioch congregation has accomplished other projects, including installation of new brass lanterns in the nave, narthex and adult Sunday school rooms; installatioin of storm windows on every stained-glass window; dedication of a sanctuary lamp, dedication of a new round stained-glass window of the head of Christ; installation of complete accoustical ceiling tile in the fellowship room; installation

of modern monofold doors in the Sunday school nursery; complete refurnishing of the church kitchen and dining room; and building of a new pastor’s sacristy and office in the church building. The Rev. Robert L. Whitenack is pastor of Antioch, which is a member of the Indiana-Kentucky synod of the Lutheran church in America. Sunday, Nov. 22, the congregation will hold a special meeting to decide on the next step in the building program.
