Decatur and Auburn continue their battle for second place in , the Northeastern Indiana Conference—and their chase of leagueleading New Haven—in two of three ..conference games on tap this evening. ’ In addition to the Yellow Jack-et-Concordia game at Worthman Field here tonight, Auburn travels to Garrett where a rotogh and tumble battle is forecast. In the third contest pitting league members, the two winless NEIC teams will meet each other, Kendallville and Angola. The other three teams are in non-con-ference engagements, while Bluffton played at Portland Tuesday night. The Devils, who are scoring points at a fantastic pace, own a 3-1 NEIC mark, and have won five of six overall. Garrett rides in fourth place with a -1-2 record and a 5-2 overall mark. A Garrett win would move them past Auburn into the third post. Kendallville and Angola, the two clubs without a victory ns yet ■ in conference play, meet tonight at the Hornets* nest. Angola is 0-5-1 in the NEIC and 1-5-1 overall, besting Howe Military Inst Fridav for their first win. Kendallville has lost all six :>f its league games and seven altogether. Cadets Vs. Jackets At Home tonight

i End Ron Smith is expected back in the lineup tonight and I tackle John Eichenauer will also be available, as the Decatur Yellow Jacke's go for their seventh win of the season and fifth in 'succesf ion against Concordia's Cadets. The Northeastern Indiana Conference game, scheduled to begin at 8 o'clock tonight at Worthman Field, is the next-to-last game on Decatur’s 1964 schedule. Smith, who suffered a concussion in the Elmhurst game and didn't dress for the game at Kendallville last week, is expected to be available for duty at defensive end tonight. Senior reserve Tom Whitaker sparkled in a pinch-hit role at defensive end last week, and can be expected to see more action tonight. Ike Ready Johnny Eichenauer, the 185pound seniod tackle, is also ready for action tonight, although his playing time might be limited by a severly sprained wrist, suffered in the Kendallville game. Eichenauer’s injury was at first though more serious, but was diagnosed this week by doctors as just a sprain, although a bad one. How* much action Eichenauer 1 will see tonight is not known. ' Ron Smith has been working at offensive tackle this week in practice, and Dave Snell, who filled in for “Ike” at Kendallville may also be used. One Win While the Decaturftes have won six of seven and five of six in NEIC play, the Cadets have regis ered just one win and a ’ pair of ties in six games this season, and own a 1-2-2 NEIC ' slate. The Cadets, however, feature a swift and potent backfield, and certainly can’t be taken lightly. One of their three losses came at the hands of strong Fort Wayne City rival Central Catholic. The Concordia lads also have the added incentive of trying to even a score from last year when the Yellow Jackets upset them at Zollner Stadium. Coach Bill Koch, who will chew a towel on the sidelines throughout the game, will throw up an offensive line that averages 177 pounds per man, giving the Yellow Jackets a slight edge. There offensive starteis include ends Tom Manske, 6-1, 163 and big Tom Wilcoxson, 6-3, 203. The tackles are Bill Bradshaw, 5-11, 180, and Mike Rohrback, 6-1, 188, while the guards are Dave Schoenhurr, six-foot, 165, and Jerry Grossman, 5-11, 186. CenI ter will be Mike Habel, 5-9, 155. !

New Haven Spoils Junior High Record New Haven spoiled Decatur’s Junior High’s chances for an undefeated season Tuesday, upsetting the local eleven by a 12-0 score at the New Haven Stadium. The hosts scored in the third period and in the final minutes of the game. The local lads entered the final game of the season with three wins and a tie in five games, and a 28-0 verdict over the same New Haven team last week. The New Haven youngsters, however, turned the tables for the upset. The local- Junior High thus finished its season with a 3-1-2 record, defeating Parkway, Village Woods and New Haven, and recording ties with Hartford City and Parkway. BOWLING MINOR I.EAfiVK W L Pts.
