Henry Wagley Dies Sunday At Hospital Henry O. Wagley, Sr., 64, of Berne route 2, died Sunday night at the Adams county memorial hospital, where he had been a , patient since Thursday. following a heart Attack. Suffers Burns In Freak Mishap Monday Jesse Venable, 23, of route 2, Decatur, received burns about the face, hands and arms in a freak mishap in Allen county Monday morning. Venable was attempting to start a boat motor which he was testing, and the motor exploded, causing the burns to the local man. The accident happened on U.S. 30, east of Fort Wayne, at the intersection of the Meyer road. The boat, which was on a trailer at the t ime the motor exploded, was heavily damaged by the fire.

Van Wert Stockyards Ceases Operations The P. B. Stewart & Co. stockyards at Van Wert, 0., ended 21 years of operations today, when the market was closed because of “dwindling receipts.” Charles W. Miltenberger, manager, is retiring after 27 years in the business Dan Stewart, of Fort Wayne, announced the closing. The firm also operates stockyards at Decatur and Fort Wayne in Indiana counties in Ohio. Miltenberger, and in Putnam, and Defiance on retiring, said, “farmers have just quit raising hogs in Van Wert county. Three Minor Wrecks Here Over Holiday - Decatur ’and Adams county did not contribute to any Labor Day holiday weekend traffic statistics, with two minor property damage accidents occurring in the city and one accident happening m the county. _ , R *ll 'lhe i» w city accidents resulted in only minor damage. The first occurred at 4:20 p. m. Saturday, at 633 Schirmeyer St., when an auto owned by Margarito Canales, of 633 Schirmeyer, received S4O damage. Laura Kahn, of Craigvllle, had parked her automobile across the street from the Canales’ car, with the motor running. One of the children in her auto put it into reverse gear, and the vehicle backed across the street into the Canales’ car. None of the children in the car was injured, and damage to the Kahn auto was estimated at $5. At 4:20 a." m. Sunday, an a ito operated by Jerry Lynn Davis, 20, of 722 N. 11th St-, struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Feres* L. Strickler, 20-year-old resident of 818 Winchester St. Both wer.e eastbound on Nuttman Ave., and Strickler was making a right turn onto Oakridge Place when struck in the rear by the Davis car. Damages were estimator at $125 to Davis’ car and $2 to Strickler’s machine. Robert Tumbleson, of route 3, Decatur, suffered minor injuries in a one-vehicle mishap around noon Sunday. Tumbleson was operating a milk truck on state road 101, about one-half mile south of U. S. 224, when the truck overturned, spilling some of the milk onto the roadway. Tumbleson was taken to the local hospital for treatment of the minor injuries, and later released. Sheriff Roger Singleton anl state trooper Dan Kwasneski investigated. Locals Mr. and Mrs. Robert Garard have returned from a three weeks vacation which they enjoyed very much. Miss Edith Burkhalter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Burkhalter, 329 North Ninth street,- celebrated her 16th birthday recently. Kenneth Loshe who was operated on September 2 at Parkview hospital, is slowly improving. His room number is 317 for anyone who wishes to send cards. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph McConnell and Anne Fortner drove to Columbus, 0., over the Labor day weekend to visit Mr. and Mrs. John McConnell and son, Mike. Mr. and Mrs. Dick Ehinger are taking a month’s trip to Califorpia. While they are there, they Will visit Mrs. Ehinger’s sister and brother. Bob Rucker of Arlington, Texas, arrived Sunday for a week’s visit with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Tyndall of' 404 Stratton Way, and other relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Barker .have returned after spending the weekend at Upton, Ky. While there, they attended the Seymour reunion September 5. Mrs. Barker was the former Kathryn. Seymour. She has four sisters and one brother. There were 64 attending the dinner. One sister and several nieces and nephews were not present. Luther Yager were all pictured at the mental health meeting at the Fort Wayne state hospital in August. The bulletin was the second in a series to outline some of the non-financial goals of the Indiana association for mental health in the coming 1965 general assembly. Young Driver Fined, License Suspended Edward L. Loshe, 20-year-old resident of route 4, Decatur, was fined on two counts in J. P. court this morning. Loshe paid a fine of $lO and costs, totaling $21.75, on a reckless driving charge, and $lO for leaving the scene of a property damage accident. In addition, the youth's driving privileges were suspended for 60 days. Loshe was arrested on a warrant in August the day after his auto struck two cars at the intersection of 13th street and Nuttman Ave., and he fled the scene ofthe crash.

Miss Brown is the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Brown, and Yoder is the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Denver Yoder. Palms and candelabra decked with greenery on either side of an arrangement of yellow gladioli,bronze mums, wheat and bittersweet decorated the altar. Organist for the occasion was Miss Madeline Hedington and’ vocafist was Mrs. Joseph Brown, sister-in-law of the bride. Vocal selections included* “Sweetest Story Ever Told,” “Walk Hand In Hand” and “Wedding Prayer.” The father of the bride escorted her down the aisle in a gown of white pure silk organza over taffeta and imported alencon lace. The molded organza bodice was fashioned with a scoop neckline outlined with alencon motifs shaped like tiny flowers with clusters of pearls in the centers. Three quarter length sieves of organza covered her arms a.'w’a tiny alencon lace flower with pearls accented the sleeve. The slim shaped organza skirt was floor length. Appliques of alencofi lace with pearl trim highlighted the skirt. A tailored organza bow was centered at the waist in the back. A cluster of alencon lace appliques with pearls accented the train as it swept to a chapel length. The slim bell shaped skirt had two streamers of organza falling from the waist. She wore a matching -organza pittbox of nector orange with a circular veil. She carried a lighted candle within a hurricane lamp centered with bronze mums, bittersweet and streamers of brown velvet ribbons. The three bridesmaids, the Misses Judy Brown, sister of the bride, and Jdye and Joan Yoder, sisters of the groom, were dressecl identical to the maid of honor and carried identical flowers. The best man was Dick Parr and ushers were Steve Yoder, Bryce Winteregg, De wayne Sprunger, Deryll Brown and Tony Heeter. The bride’s mother wore a brown and beige three piece knit suit with brown and beige accessories to her daughter’s wedding and the groom’s mother chose a two piece blue wool suit with bone accessories. Both mothers wore corsages of bronze mums. Following the ceremony a reception was held in the church basement. Those serving at the reception were Mrs. Gary Rice Mrs. Leonard Augsburger, Miss Cheryl Bauman and Miss Joanna Wheeler. Mrs. Derryll Hendricks registered the guests. For a wedding trip to northern Michigan and Wisconsin, the new Mrs. Yoder wore a two piece yellow and white knit suit with brown and white accesories and a corsage of yellow roses from her bouquet. The bride is a graduate of Geneva high school and is a receptionist at Berne Furniture. The groom graduated from Adams Central high school and Purdue University. He is an electronic engineer for Delco Radio at Kokomo. The couple will be at home in Kokomo.

THREE CIRCLES . _ TO MEET The circles of the First Presbyterian church will meet this week. The Naomi circle, with Mrs. John McConaha as chairman, will meet at the church at 9 Wednesday morning. Mrs. John Spaulding will lead the Bible study. Hostesses will be Mrs. Calvin Magley and Mrs. Otto Beehler. Wednesday evening, the Ruth circle will meet at 8 at their chairman’s home, Mrs. Charles Morgan. The Bible study will be led by Miss Eleanor Pumphrey. Assisting the hestess with the refreshments will be Mrs. James Robinson. The Mary-Martha circle, with Mrs. Lowell Harper as chairman, will meet Thursday afternoon at 2:30 at the home of Mrs. Fred Smith.
