The Church Invites You The moral decline in our nation and around the world is cause for deep concern by many people. Crime is on the rampage and immorality is rampant in the forms of entertainment and in all the relationships of life. Many thoughtful people are wondering what can be done about it. The Chrisitan has but one answer and that is the spiritual power of Christ, a power which we have seen capable of redeeming men from all types bf immorality, of bringing back the prodigal and producing almost unbelievable transformations in men. No power for good is as potent as the spiritual power of Christ which is available to all me who will accept it. (Die church is a place of worship where men may find inspiration, courage and renewed faith to help us grow spiritually. WHY NOT ACCEPT THE INVITAT IO N AND COME TO CHURCH NEXT SUNDAY? An intelligent citizenship is absolutely necessary if the people are to remain the rightful sovereigns of their government. Christianity is the companion of liberty in all its conflicts, the cradle of its infancy, and the divine source of its claims — DeTocqueville.

Seven major denominations in the United States which have over 400 fraternal workers in Japan, cooperated' -in organizing The United Church of Christ in Japan (Kyodan) which has a Christian community of 230,000; 1600 organized congregations, some 350 unorganized groups and 1300 ordained Japanese ministers. Additional requests from overseas by the United Church in Japan include 40 more evangelistic workers and thirty teachers. There are 300,000 Roman Catholics and 700,000 Protestants, a total of a million professing Christians in a population of nearly 100,000,000 Japanese. A HAPPY HOME T. DeWitt Talmage describes the home as "A church within a church, a republic within a republic, a world within a world. If things go right in the home, they go right everywhere. If they, go wrong there, they go wrong everywhere. The doorsill of the dwelling house is the foundation of the church and state. A man never gets higher than his own attic and never lower than his own cellar. Domestic life overarches and undergirds all other life.” The supreme test of Christianity is in the home and it is the most difficult test because in the home we are known for what we really are. The. home is the scene of severe struggles and difficulties and there are often other elements of disharmony. This presents a challenge because the home should be the place for the finest feelings to be expressed, the noblest characters to be formed and the place where the happiest moments of life are meant to be experienced. The longing for peace is one ' of the greatest needs of humanity. The source of peace is within, not as so many believe, in external conditions. If one’s heart is calm, serene and untroubled, then one is at peace within himself and with the world. We should seek peace not by changing outer circumstances, but by having our inner lives consecrated by Christ’s spirit.

Every man is a soloist and fortunately there is variety enough in life to give each of us a solo part to fit our peculiar range. We may be divided into tenors and baritones and bass but there is a special quality in every voice which makes it one’s own. Every worker puts something of his personality into every job he does, although the job may be standardized. his applies even to most mass production operations. The pen lines of the draftsman, the marks of the file or chisel of th.e machinist, the chipping marks of the granite worker, the threads of the garment identify the worker. Every man should take pride in the job which is his-no-matter what anybody else may think of it. Every man is a soloist.
