Fort Wayne Youth Held For Speeding A Fort Wayne youth has been arrested by the city police in connection with an incident which occurred in this city last month. Bill D. Weesner, 23, has been charged with speeding 110 miles per hour in a 65 zone, and with failure to obey a police officer. Weesner was arrested by officer, and present acting chief, Victor Strickler, Tuesday, and charged with the two counts, stemming from a high speed chase, on July 27, around 11 o’clock at night. Weesner is alleged to have been involved in a high-speed race with Elvin L. Adkins, of near Decatur, on U. S. 27, the evening of July 27. Strickler had witnessed the two autos and gave chase. He got the two cars stopped, but he was getting out of the police car, the two autos fled the scene in different directions. Adkins was arrested the following day on a warrant and charged with speeding and failing to obey a police officer. He appeared in city court and was granted a month’s time in which to secure legal advice. Both Adkins and Weesner are scheduled to appear in city court next Monday morning. NIPSCO Directors Declare Dividend Directors of Northern Indiana Public Service company has declared a dividend of $1.0625 a share on the 4-*4% cumulative preferred stock; $1.13 a share on the 4-14% cumulative preferred stock; $1.06 a share on the 4.22% cumulative preferred stock; and $1.22 a share on the 4.88% cumulative preferred stock of the company, Dean H. Mitchell, NIPSCO chairman and president, announced today. All, four dividends are payable October 14, 1964, to shareholders of record at the close of business September 19, 1964. Escapes Injury In One-Car Accident Larry G. Bush, 21, whose address was given as the Highway Motel, escaped injury in a onecar accident this morning when his auto sheared off a Citizens Telephone Co. utility pole. Bush was eastbound on county road 4, three miles north of Decatur, at 7:05 a.m., when his vehicle left the road on the left side, in front of the William Aumann residence. The vehicle traveled 114 feet and struck the Aumann mail box before crashing into the pole. The pole was broken in half by the impact and the car traveled andther 27 feet before coming to rest. Sheriff Roger Singleton, who investigated, charged Bush with reckless driving, and estimated Bush’s 1953 model car as a total loss. Damage to the pole and mail box was setimated at a total of SSO. / 'Beatles' Raise $2 For Kennedy Fund The Adams county version of the “Beatles” has raised two dollars for the John F. Kennedy memorial fund. Rick and Cheryl Ad?m and Johnny and Diane Blume recently staged a “Beatle Show” at the home of Mrs. Eddie Blume, route 2, Decatur, and played the parts of the four famous singers. Admisison charge was 10 cents for children and five cents for adults, with nine children and two adults attending the show, Popcorn and kool-aid were also sold to raise the amount for the Kennedy library.
