She carried a bouquet of white carnations and garlands of stephanotis centered with a white orchid and ivy. Miss Karen Zypmuntowski. maid of honor, appeared in a long gown of white embroidered organza over ice blue taffeta with a bateau neckline and a belled skirt. A small floral hat held her nosegay veil in place. The wedding party also included bridesmaids Miss Connie Tylisz, sister of the bride, and the Misses Pat and Jayne Beal, sisters of the bridegroom. Their dresses were identical to the one worn by the honor attendant. The four maids carried crescents of pale pink glamelias ascented with blue loops. Joseph Kohne attended the groom as best man' and James Powlen, Delphi; Kent Perry, Leitersford; and Joe Miller, Muncie, were ushers. MEET WITH CARRY-IN SUPPER The Hope circle of WSCS of the Union Chapel church met recently with a carry-in supper at Han-na-Nuttman park with their husbands as guests. Clarence Drake gave the mealtime prayer. Mrs. Earl Shase was the program chairman and used as her topic, “Put Prayer First.” The group sang "avior Like a Shepherd” and Robert Workinger gave the ptayer. Scripture was read by Mrs. Chase, Mrs. Mabie Marshall, and others. After the program and silent prayer, Mrs. Wilbur Foor dismissed the meeting with prayer. Janet Brown, chairman of the circle, had charge of the business meeting. She announced an invitation from Mrs. Dale Coffee for a prayer retreat with the Willshire Church of God Thursday at 7 p.m. September 3 will be the general meeting at the church. It was announced that Evangel subscriptions are now due. The group was invited to be the guests of the Decatur EUB WSCS September 15. Attend District Meet Five Adams county Republican leaders attended the regular meeting of fourth district party leaders at Angola Monday evening. Monmouth Beginners To Report Aug. 20 The Monmouth school junior band members arid beginners from Monmouth and the Lutheran schools will report for lessons Thursday, Aug. 20, and not Aug. 18, as erroneously stated in Wednesday’s Daily Democrat. Those who have not obtained a schedule may do so next Tuesday or Wednesday at the band room at the school. Baptists To Build Retirement Home COLUMBUS, Ind. (UPI) — A new retirement home to be operated by an affiliate of the Indiana Baptist Convention will be built here soon. Dr. W. S. Fisher, Columbus, president of Indiana Baptist Home and Hospitals, Inc., an- ' nounced Wednesday that * land is being acquired -for the home and a unit to take care of about 100 persons will be constructed. Fisher said that would be the first of three planned units of similar size, each costing around $1 million. Branigin, the Democratic party’s nominee for governor, said Wednesday the #administration’s anti-pove¥ty bill which passed Congress this week is an example of the courage of the Democratic party. Branigin termed the bill “a bold and historic document that truly reflects the dynamic idealism and conscience of the Democratic party.” < “Only the Democratic party would have the courage to attack this problem in a time of unprecedented prosperity when most people would say to leave well enough alone,” he said. (UPI) — Vandals pushed over about 150 tombstones, some of them nearly 100 years old, in Greelawn Cemetery northwest of here during the weekend. Cemetery workers Wednesday discovered extensive damage, most of it to th older grave markers in an area hidden from view of- a nearby road.

Man Is Killed By Fall From Scaffold INDIANAPOLIS (UPI) — Norman B. Keen, 37, Indianapolis, was injured fatally Wednesday when he fell from a scaffold while repairing guttering on his home, father, the bride appeared In a floor length gown of chantilly lace and taffeta. The bodice featured a scalloped neckline and long sleeves which came to bridal points over her hands. The skirt was accented with a panel of lace in the front and by a large bow at the waistline in the back. Her fingertip veil was held in place by a crown of rhinestones. She carried an arrangement of yellow roses. Miss Janelie Roth was maid of honor. She wore a street length dress of yellow silk organza featuring a scooped neckline. She chose white accessories to complete her ensemble. Her headpiece was a tiara of rhinestones and she carried a bouquet of white pompoms and yellow roses. Warren Harden served as best man and William Shoaf, brother of the bride, and Miles Joseph, brother of the groom, were ushers. Mrs. Shoaf chose an aqua suit and white patent accessories. Mrs. Joseph wore a turquoise print dress and white accessories. Each mother wore a corsage of white pompoms. Immediately following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church basement. Those serving at the reception were Mrs. Bill Dixon, Mrs. Jerry Murray, and Mrs. James Tumbleson, all kisters of the bride. For an unannounced wedding trip, the bride chose a white shift dress and white patent accessories. The bride i$ a graduate of Adams Central high school. The groom is a graduate a of Crestview high school and is employed at the General Electric company in Decatur. The couple will make their home at 518 Mercer Avenue, on' lot 6.
