FRIENDSHIP CIRCLE HOLDS ANNUAL PICNIC The friendship circle of the Decatur Missionary church held its annual picnic at the park on Winchester street Friday evening. Opening prayer was given by Robert Reynolds. Following the delicious meal, the group spent time in playing basketball, badminton and softball. Those attending were Mr. and Mrs. Norman Hart and son, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Myers and children, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Summers and children, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Rayer and children, Mr. and Mrs. Dave Cole and children, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Reynolds and children, Mrs. Grover Cudle and children, Mrs. Darell Gerig and children, Mrs. Wendell Abbott and children, and Mr. and Mrs. Gary Millington. MISS JOHNSON IS HONORED WITH SHOWER Miss Arlene Johnson, bride-elect of Roger Dick, was honored with a bridal shower recently in the Bamboo room of the Fairway Restaurant. The color scheme was blue and white. Following' games, Miss Johnson opened her many lovely gifts. Refreshments of cake, punch and peppermint ice cream were served. Fern covered candelabra formed the setting in the Pleasant Dale Church of the Brethren for the wedding of Miss Carol Ann Schwartz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. Ruben Schwartz, route 1, Berne, and Glen William Yager, son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Yager, route 2, Berne. The Rev. Kenneth E. Russell officiated the evening double ring ceremony. Organist Mrs. Dale Liby played selections including “Oh, Perfect jjove,” “With This Ring,” “Clair de Lune,” and “Indian Love Call” and accompanied vocalist Mrs. Kenneth Russell as she sang “Oh, Promise Me,” “Because,” and “Wedding Prayer.” Escorted to the altar by her father, the bride was attired in a gown of silk peau de soie reembroidered alencon lace. The fitted bodice featured a scoop neckline and elbow length sleeves.The gown was accented with lace appliques on the waist sprinkled with pearls and crystals. The floor length skirt was of controlled style. The watteau chapel length train was accented with lace applique at the bottom and featured a bow at the waistline. Her veil of white silk illusion was caught to a crown of pointed pearl and lace. She carried a cascade arrangement of white carnations centered with sweetheart roses. Mrs. Robert Cable, sister of the bride, was matron of honor and the Misses Miriam and Bernice Yager, sisters of the groom, served as bridesmaids. They wore floor length sheathe gowns of satin faced peau. The fitted bodices featured scoop necklines and cap sleeves. The empire waistlines were accented by double self bows in the back. The,

December 26 is the date set by Miss Donna K. Cauble and Ralph W. Schmit for their wedding. The bride-elect is a graduate of Adams Central high school and Ball State Teachers College in Muncie. She teaches in the Bluffton-Harrison metropolitan school district at Central school. Her parents are Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Cauble, route 2> Her fiance is the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Schmit, route 1, Bryant. He is a graduate of Geneva high school and served four years with the U. S- Air Force. He is presently employed by. New Idea in Coldwater, O. •
