Society. DECATIJB HOME DEMONSTRATION CLUB The Decatur home demonstration club met at the C. L. of C. hall. The meeting was opened b> the group repeating the club creed, Club song, and the pledge* to the flag. Mrs. Melvin Hanoi, the club song leader, told the history of the song of the month, “Annie Laurie,” and led the group in singing it. Mrs. John Gage gave the devotions. Mrs. Cecil Bause Was the pianist for the evening. Mrs. Henry Adler gave the citizenship lesson on “Hoosier culture.” She told of the different poets of Indiana, of the part Indiana had played in the life of Lincoln, of the first church in Indiana (a Baptist church), of the first county fair in Indiana in 1832. and of the opening <rf Purdue University in 1874. She
etoeed her-Wk MtU h poem. “My Indiana.'* Mrs. Patsy Leaders gave the lesson, "Fashions, people judge you by what they see! People are fashion concious. Do not wear clothes simply because they are in style. Wear something that is becoming to you.” Twenty-one members and one guebt answered roll call. Plans were made for <the county picnic to be held June 2$ at the 4-H building in Monroe at 6:30 p.m. Mrs. Woodson Ogg, tthe vice president. presided. “Hippy Birthday” Was sung to Mrs. Walter Lister, Mrs. Manley Fareman, and Mrs. Ceeil Gause. Mrs. Frank Orlst, conducted the auction. Mrs. Amamdus Zelt was given the club gift- At a beautifully decorated table, unebeon was served by Mrs. Melvin Hanni, Mrs. Wayne Bodie, Mrs. Harmon GlDig and Mrs. Clarence Smitley.
