Anderson said today there have been many reports of “bootleg” fireworks being sold or brought into the state for Fourth of July celebrations. Anderson issued his annual warning to Hoosiers that explosive fireworks are illegal and anyone caught with them in his possession faces the threat of prosecution. Fire marshal deputies were ordered to make arrests and turn over evidence to county prosecutors. Anderson also asked local authorities to cooperate in confiscating harmful fireworks and making arrests.
