Denninger, retired parochial school teacher, now of Columbus, who has taught a total of 54 years in the former central and now Indiana district. Society ST. PAUL LADIES AID The St. Paul ladies aid met at the home of Mrs. Martin Arnold for the June meeting. Mrs. Lyle Franz had charge of the devotions. The group sang “Following Jesus” and a portion of scripture was read from Romans. In the lesson she stated that all will have to give an account before God. Mrs. Charles Shoaf, Mrs. Robert Welch, Mrs. Arnold Martin and Mrs. Lyle Franz followed with Prayer. The remainder of the evening was spent in quilting and hemming dish towels. It was decided to take a gift for a missionary to the conference. The next meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Martin in Berne. The Rose garden club members are reminded to bring contributions for the bazaar in connection with the “Flower Show’

The Root Township home demonstration club will meeet at the home of Mrs. Dale Moses Tuesday at 1 p.m. DECATUR GARDEN CLUB LUNCHEON Sixteen members of the Decatur garden club had a noon luncheon at {he Fairway.restaurant Tuesday. The tables were beautifully decorated with floral centerpieces. Mrs. Fred Ashbaucher and Mrs. Russell Acker were the hostesses. Mrs. William Schnepf conducted • a short business meeting. The club received invitations from both the Berne garden club and the Rose, garden club to participate in their flower shows. The Berne flower show wil be held at Berne Saturrday and the Rose flower show will be held in Decatur June 24. After the business meeting, the club motored to Fort Wayne and visited the “Rose Gardens’ on Lake avenue.

The lesson was given by Mrs. Thelma Kitson and the title was “Let’s Face the Challenge of Change.” The aim of the lesson was to discuss where the EUB brethren are already at work in the changing city and how they are helping to meet the needs there. ._ A play'ette was read with different members taking part. The£ scene was of a group of women * sitting in the living room discussing ways in which the church could help to meet the challenge that the changing city presents. Included in the cast were Mrs. James Johnson, Mrs. Glenn McDonald, Mrs. Robert Raudenbush, Mrs. Weriana Light, and Mrs. Thelma Kitson. A song entitled “Where Cross the Crowded Ways of Life,” was read by the leader. Responsive reading was in the form of prayer. Mrs. Kitson closed the meeting with prayer and the business meeting was opened. In the social hour following the business meeting the hostess served refreshments to the five members present and plans were made for the next meeting. The nextmeeting will be. held at the Rose Gardens, 5:30 p.m’., July 13. Vases of gladioli and lighted candles bedecked the altar of the Zion Lutheran ./Hutch for the wedding of Miss Martha Helen Bleeke, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Grover Bleeke of route 3, and Larry Gene ' Baumgartner, soil of Mr. and Mns. Melvin Baumgartner, 216 N. 4th street. The Rev. Richard Ludwig officiated for the double ring ceremony. Mrs. Norma Scaer, organist, played “O Perfect Love,” “Take Thou My Hands and Lead Me,” “Fantasy in A Minor,” “Asia in F Major,” the “Bridal Chorus,” and slhc “Wedding March.” ■ Escorted down the aisle by her father the' bride appeared in a gown of white satin in princess style. The bodice was fashioned with a V-neckline and long sleeves tapered to points over her hands. Her veil was held in place by a tiara of seed pearls and sequins on petals. tions. Mrs. Robert Lasch, sister of the bride, served as matron of honor. She wore a street length gown of aqua chiffon over taffeta. It was styled with a round neckline and a swirled, bell-shaped skirt. Her headpiece was made of pearls on petals made of matching aqua chiffon. She carried a bouquet of pink mums. Miss Kathleen Bleeke, isister of the bride, was the bridesmaid. She was dressed identical to the matron of honor. Robert Lasch, brother-in-law of the bride, was best man and Dan Eyanson, friend of the groom, was groomsman. The ushers were Danny Baumgartner, brother of the gfoom, and Donald Bleeke, brother of the bride. For her daughter’s wedding, the bride’s mother chose a beige embroidered Chiffon over taffeta suit with beige accessories and a pink carnation corsage. Mrs. Baumgartner wore a turquoise
three-piece knit suit with pink and beige accessories and a pink carnation corsage. Immediately following the wedding ceremony, a reception was held at the Hoagland Hayloft for approximately 300 guests. Serving at the reception were Mrs. Donald Bleeke, Mrs. Ronald Bleeke, Mrs. Lester Painter and Mrs. Vernon Seitz. For a wedding trip to northern Michigan, the new Mrs. Baumgartner chose a pink jersey sheath featuring three-quarter length sleeves and white accessories. The bride attended Monmouth high school and is employed by the Decatur Industries.
