Adams Central Election Every rmriddnt erf the Adama Central Community Schools Area, which includes all or parts of ll precincts, #fll get a chance to vote Tuesday on a candidate from each of the seven districts in the first election since the new Adama Central was created July 1, IMS. The Man receiving the highest total vote wiO serve a five-year term after this first election, and four-year terms thereafter; the three next highest will serve four-year terms, and the next three wffl serve a two-year term, and then fouryear terms thereafter, to stagger the board. Three incumbent school board members in this totally non-political election are not seeking reelection: Fred Kaehr, of district one; Elmer Isch, of district two, and Dan Habegger, of district seven. The districts indicate areas of residence for each member, but everyone in the entire Adams Central district gets to vote for a candidate from each district. The guarantees distribution of members through the Adams Central area, but gives everyone a chance to vote. Adams Central is on the only school corporation of the three in Adams county where you, the school patrons, have the right to elect the men to represent you on the hoard, and it is sincerely hoped that every resident will take full advantage of this- You know the men who are running — vote for the ones front each district whom you think wiH do the best job. In a special meeting Tuesday night the Adams Central board voted to include a kindergarten program for the 1964-66 school year, an important advance which brings it into line with the other two school districts. About 100 kindergarten pupils are expected to take advantage of this service. The program will be available at both Adams Central and Pleasant Mills. Remedial reading will be given this summer and a full-time guidance instructor was hired for this past school year. Vocational areas are to be expanded, and the board has taken action to provide a well-qualified teaching stiff. __ > Only two candidates are assured of election; Harvey L. Jones, of route 6, who has served the board grnce Jan. 1 is unopposed in district five, and Howard \E.
