FRIDAY (Continued from Page One) be staked, even if it was treated last year,” Noll warned. The men working in each area will only pave the areas marked, and cannot return to get an area missed. Andrews Appears The question came up when True Andrews appeared before the commissioners,, and asked that his area be treated for dust control. Noll explained to him how to apply for the liquid asphalt and the cost. Andrews asked why rural people had to pay for dust control, when others had their roads paved. The commissioners explained that they were trying to get as many miles of road paved each year as possible, but that if they tried to give free dust control, they couldn't pave any road, and couldn't even finish the dust control each year. J Inspect Bridges To Be Repaired Following lunch this noon, the Adams county commissioners drove to St. Mary’s township, to old 124. now a county road, in the southeast part of St. Marys township, to see a bridge that will be repaired. They also were to drive into Blue Creek township to see the bridge on highway 28, a mile east of Salem, and a mile and a half south, over the Blue Creek, which may also be repaired. The commissioners expected to be back in their office about 2:30 p.m. to meet with any other people with problems.

Dance One Feature Os D.H.S. Musicale
When Hugh J. Andrews, Decatur high school principal announced that he “would like to see the exotic dancers,” it came an no surprise to many of the students. Having seen the dancers in their practice, most of the student body is quite enthusiastically certain that anyone would enjoy seeing ’the dance “Exotica." The dance will be one of the main features of the forthcoming musical play “The Dreamer," to be presented Friday and Saturday, May 1 and 2, in the Decatur high school auditorium. Both performances will begin at 8 p.m. Principal Andrews was not expressing his feelings, but merely repeating a quote of Miss Bernadine Van Skyke, who is coaching the girls in their presentation of “Exotica.” “I’m really proud of these girls; the way they have learned the steps so quickly is almost professional,” says Miss Van Skyke. Returning the compliment, the girls are quite thrilled that the physical education teacher has choreographed each of the steps in the dance. Apparently, if mutual admiration and cooperation are one of the components needed to make the play successful, it should be one of the most enjoyable events of the year. Choir Members Taken from the ranks of the high school choir, all of the girls are juniors and seniors, chosen for their talent and ability. Representing the senior class are Suzie Smith, Nancy Gerber, Betsy Schnepf and Sally Schnepf. Juniors are Carole Mitch, Becky Lord and Jane Tumlin. All of the seniors and all but one of the juniors have experienced some form of dance training previous to this endeavor.

Russians Battle To Save Fabled City MOSCOW (UPD—Soviet engineers today expressed confidence of winning a “battle of nature” to save the fabled ancient city of Samarkind from a threatened flood by millions of tons of water. Waters of the Zeravshan River strained against a natural dam caused by a massive landslide in the central Asian region. Collapse of the high barrier would send the water down the valley where 500,000 people live. Moscow Radio said this morning, however, that engineers had nearly * finished a “by-pass Canal’’ around the dam, slowing the rise in pressure. Dynamite is being put into place and the charges will be detonated Wednesday, forcing the river into a new bed and allowing the accumulated water to run off harmlessly, the radio said.
