PHILIP BENE ELEY TO WED IN JUNE Planning a June 14 wedding in Parkrose Methodist church in Portland. Oregon, are Janis Dale Veach, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roger Veach, and Philip Rene Eley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gayle Eley. Eley is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Eley of 1020 Central avenue, Decatur, and also attended the Decatur public school. At present he is a senior at Portland State college. ART DEPARTMENT MAKES TEMPLE TOUR Fifteen members of the Art department of Women’s club motored to Fort Wayne Sunday afternoon for a tour through the Jewish Temple. This field trip took the place of the regular April meeting. John Malay conducted the group first into the simple but truly magnificent sanctuary, describing the altar, the lovely curtains which hang in front of the torahs, the torahs themselves, their covers, the silver bi%astplate and pointer, the seven branched candelabra, and finally the nine beautiful stained glass windows along one wall, which depicted the history of Judaism. From the sanctuary the group was shown the huge organ, the Sunday school rooms, the rabbi’s study, the Isaac and Etta Oppenheim youth center, and the Jacob L. Goldman memorial museum. Miss Charlotte Vera, chairman of the Art department, announced that Miss Dorothy Schnepp will become a new member of the department and that Mrs. Leo Curtin will be the art advisor for the Junior arts department. The committee in charge of the field trip was Miss Mary Jo Hoffman, Miss Glennys Roop, Miss Kathryn Kauffman and Miss Ruth Winnes. CELEBRATE 25TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Amick, 610 Marshall street celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary Sunday at their home with a family dinner. Present for the celebration were Mr. and Mrs. Wiliam Amick and sons, Mark, Randy and Billy Joe, Elwood; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Amick and children, Lois and Wayne of Anderson. Mr. and Mrs. Merlyn Mountz and son Lucian Ray of Patriot, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Morris and son Bob, Decatur, Mrs. Gladys Smith and Ocie Rapper of Anderson. Unable to attend were a son and his family, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Courtney and daughters Beth and Cindy of San Antonio, Texas. The couple received many lovely gifts from friends and relatives. The K. of C. auxiliary will have a card party Wednesday evening beginning at 8 o’clock and will be held in the K. of C. hall. Wednesday evening at seventhirty the American Cancer society will show a film at the I and M. building, and again on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. The showings will be free and the “ public is invited to attend. The Delta Theta Tau sorority will have a rummage sale to be held Friday from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. in the C. L. of C. hall. A second rummage sale to be held at the same location from 9 to 3 on Saturday.

The members first met at the Mrs. Edward Summer’s home, then visited the county home where they delivered Easter baskets filled with cookies, candy and a handkerchief for the ladies. The men were given a plate of cookies and candy. Following the distribution of the gifts a program was held which consisted of songs, devotions, a poem and a prayer. The group sang three songs: “What a Friend We have in Jesus,” “He Lives, He Lives,” and “My Jesus I Love Thee.” Mrs. Norman Hart read devotions and a story entitled “The Darkest Day in all the World” and a poem “Scar.” The program was closed by prayer by Mrs. Gerald Gerig. The group returned to meet at the home of Mrs. Edward Summers for a business meeting. Roll call was answered by naming "Our Favorite Sport.” Mrs. Charles Rhoades and Mrs. Floyd Reef served 13 members and one guest as follows: Mrs. Imogene Abbott, Mis. ‘Saturday evening at seventhirty o’clock in the First Missionary church at Berne, Miss Doveanna Fay Nussbaum became the bride of Dal John Fosnaugh, Parents of the young couple are Mr. and Mrs. Menno D. Nussbaum and Mr. and Mrs. Victor J. Fognaugh. The double ring cereipony was performed by Rev. C. H. Weiderkehr. The church and altar were decorated with candelabra, greenery and lillies. A twenty minute musicale was presented by the organist. Miss Kay Ann Gilpin, and soloist, Mrs. Laverne Sprunger, sang “I Love You Truly,” “Because,” and “Wedding Prayer.” The bride was given in marriage by her father, and her gown of silk organza over taffety was designed with a fitted bodice of A lenson lace with scoop neckline outlined with irridescent sequins and seed pearls. The long sleeves, tapering to a point over her wrists, were appliqued with lace and pearls. The front and side panels of the full skirt were appliqued with reembroidered lace, and a panel of Alencon lace swept into a chapel length train. ment of yellow roses and lillies, centered with an orchid. Her bouffant waist length veil of French illusion fell from an open pill box crown of beads. Mrs. Joseph Higgins, Indianapolis, cousin of the bride, was gowned ina sheath dress of lavender brocade taffeta street length, elbow length sleeves and scoop neckline with a cumberbund which held a detachable panel complimented with a large fabric rose. Her fabric rose headpiece was complete with a circular of lavender tulle, and she carried a cascade of yellow jonquils and lillies of the valley. The bridesmaid was Miss Roxanne Sprunger, Berne, and a friend of the bride, who wore a gown and headdress and carried a cascade flower arrangement similar to the honor attendant. The bride’s cousin, Miss Liza Nussbaum, was flower girl and her dress of lavender brocade taffeta was styled with a full skirt with a cumberbund featuring a tie back sash and her headpiece consisted of two fabric roses and tulle. She carried a smaller version of flowers similar to the honor attendant. The bride’s mother was gowned in a beige brocade jacket dress with accessories in lavendar and beige, and her corsage was lavender carnations. The groom's mother was gowned in a navy dress and coat ensemble, and her .acessories were lilac, and she also wore a corsage of lavender carnations.
Gary Hiss, brother-in-law of the groom from Portland, was best man, and seating the guests were Sidney Schwartz, Howard Snyder, Corwin Fosnaugh and Jerry Schwartz. The groomsman, brother of the groorh, was Ronald Fosnaugh. Immediately following the ceremony a reception was held at the church for 200 invited guests. A 5 tiered cake centered the serving table and was decorated with yellow and lavender roses.

Mrs. Sidney Schwartz was in charge of the guest register, Miss Neva Hirschy received gifts at the door and servers at the reception were Miss Jane Fosnaugh, Mrs. Jack Bardett, Mrs. Leßoy Sprunger and Miss Landa Nace. For her wedding trip of unannounced destination the new Mrs. Fosnaugh wore a pink mohair suit with white detachable full collar and her accessories were in black. She wore the orchid from her bridal bouquet.

The bride is an Adams Central high school graduate, also a graduate of the Fort Wayne school of practical nursing and for the past two years has been employ- « ed at the Caylor-Nickle clinic. The groom attended the Geneva high school, Great Lakes Bible college, and has been employed for the past two years at the CTS of Berne. After April 12 the young couple will be at home at 617 North Jefferson street in Berne.
