How many years after Malachi had foretold Christ’s birth did the Savior appear? CHURCH FORUM WHAT SHOULD CHURCH MEMBERSHIP INVOLVE? As a church member, one should face up to his obligations. One expects the church to provide strength to you and it will; but its value will depend in large part on the strength you bring to it. Make yourself worthwhile to the church in the way you can best serve it. You have an obligation to care for the good name of the church among people outside since you are part of the church and its good name is committed in part to you. Being a good church member means attending the services of the church. You need them for your spiritual growth and your attendance is evidence of the fact you are a Christian witness. Be an informed church member, understand its finances, its missionary program, the work of the deacons, its youth program, its various activities, and find out where best you can serve effectively. Your spiritual growth is also dependent on your prayer life, Bible reading, and fellowship with other Christians. Support the church with your time, your money, yourself to the best of your ability, and you will find how worthwhile church membership is to you.
