THE DECATUR DAILY DEMOCRAT Published Every Evening Except Sunday by THE DECATUR DEMOCRAT CO., INC. Entered at the Decatur, Ind., Post Office as Second Class Matter Dick D. Heller, Jr — President Mrs. John Shirk Vice President Mrs. A. R. Holthouse — Secretary Chas. E. Holthouse ———... Treasurer Subscription Rates By Mail, in Adams and Adjoining Counties: One year, $10.00; Six By Mail, beyond Adams and Adjoining Counties: One year, $11.25; 6 months, $6.00; 3 months, $3.25. By Carrier, 35 cents per week. Single copies, 7 cents. Are You Registered? Are you properly registered to vote? Are you eligible to vote? Have you moved since the last time you voted? Have you recently come of age? If you will be 21 years of age by November 3, and if you will have lived at your May sth address for six months by Nov. 2nd, if from out of state, you are eligible to register to vote. If you have moved recently, go to the Adams county clerk’s office, and transfer your voter’s registration. You or your wife may transfer for both of you. April 6, next Monday, is the deadline for registration, so don’t put it off another day. George Bair, Adams county clerk, or any of deputies in the office, or any deputy registration clerk, will be more than happy to see that you are registered. The clerk’s office is located in the northwest corner of the court house, near the Third and Madison comer, and the office is open from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. for your convenience. If you are unable to get to the court house when it is open, or before noon on Saturday, call your Democratic county chairman, Dr. Harry H. Hebble, or Republican county chairman, Roy L. Price, and either will be glad to locate a deputy registration clerk for you. Your vote is very very important. If good candidates are not nominated, then you cannot elect good candidates in the fall. And be sure to vote in the party of your choice, where you intend to cast the majority of your vote in the fall. It is quite wrong, and weakens your party, when you “cross over” in the primary. The two political parties are well enough balanced in Adams county that each could now nominate more than 1 candidate per office, if only those people '* who intelid to vote Republican in the fall would vote - in the Republican primary! The Republicans here will never have a really strong party here until more people start taking part in the primaries and the party organization. The Republicans chide the Democrats about the interest that one or two local families and their relatives have had in local affairs but forget that they have only had one or two individuals running their party! The primary is the real time to make Democracy work — so register now, and vote in the primary of the party of your choice.
