The speaker stated that what alarmed him about the supreme court decision dealing with prayer and Bible reading in the schools was not the restrictions
and limitations it established but the possibility that it may be the beginning of a movement to remove God and prayer from congress, legislatures, courts and other governmental bodies; take God out of things like the pledge to the flag, abolish chaplains and religious services in the military forces of the country; and ultimately take God out of every public function and affair. Ludwig called attention to the terrible decline in moral standards and the alarming Increase in crirte and turmoil all over the nation. Several current magazine reports and articles were , cited to support these points. “All this he stated, “is evidence that our communities and nation ought to be bringing God into their affairs rather than trying to shut him out.
During the club’s regular meeting it was announced that in April the membership of the club will be divided into two teams which will compete for attendance honors. Attention was called to several important dates coming up. April 6, there will be no regular Monday evening meeting*%'s the club will attend a joint meeting later in the week with Other Decatur service clubs. Sunday,
April 5, the district convention will be held at Albion. Registration will be from 12:30 to 2 p.m. and the special banquet will start it 5:30 p.m. May 1, 2, and 3 is the Indiana Lions state convention at Evansville. Jack Coolman of the Indiana and Michigan Electric Co., was a guest at the meeting. Following the regular meeting the board of directors and the scout committee held special meetings.
Many Visitors See Easter Egg Display The Easter egg trees at the Decatur public library continue to draw visitors from neighboring areas to view the colorful display. The latest visitors included Iqbal Twaidsh, of Baghdad. Iraq, brought to the library by Mrs. Gerald Cole to see the tree and
