Thought for the Day: “What a pleasure life would be to live if everybody would try to do at least half of what he expects others to do.” , Our US Whatever thing in life you want most is, in truth, your religion, be it fame, wealth, health, goodness, or God. It is a law of our nature that when an end has been effectively suggested to the unconscious mind, that mind tends to work toward its realization. If you want Christ in your life most, then Christ-like tendencies spring up, and naturally you walk with God and love to do His will. The Church Invites You Dr. Charles Malik, delegate to the United Nations from Lebanon, once said: "There are three unpardonable sins today: to be superficial in the analysis of the world situation; to live and act as though half-hearted measures would avail; and to lack the moral courage to rise to the historic occasion. Everybody has a role to play. Government, business, labor, the press, the universities, the churches — every agency and every person must respond, each in his own way and each within the limits of his competence. In the prevailing climate of materialism, secularism and indifference, the churches are called to new heroic effort. They must keep the flame of the creative spirit burning. The Church convicts us of our sin as she lifts the Cross above every principality and power. The Church wields weapons of the Spirit by firmly maintaining right values. The Church remains faithful to the Kingdom of God and His Christ.” WHY NOT ACCEPT THE INVITATION AND COME TO CHURCH NE£T SUNDAY? Christian Life magazine is mapping out a news and inspirational magazine to be aimed at the 3,750,000 evangelicals in Brazil. World Lutheranism, the largest Protestant grouping, now has more than 73 million baptized members, according to figures released in Helsinki, Finland, at the Fourth Assembly of the Lutheran World Federation. The Bible has retained its position as the world’s mosttranslated book, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization reported during its recent meeting in Paris. The 14th annual edition of the “Index Translationum,” covering the year 1961, said The Bible had been translated 246 times, as against 258 times the year before. In second place were the works of Lenin, with 185 translations.
