DECATUR DAILY DEMOCRAT Published Every Evening Except Sunday by • THE DECATUR DEMOCRAT CO.. INC. altered at the Decatur, Ind., Post Office as Second Class Matter Dick D. Heller. Jr Prestoent John G. Heller Vice President Chas. E. Holthouse Secretary-Treasurer ■l' 1 I ■ John D. Bottorff For Secretary of State Recently we introduced the readers of the Decatur Daily Democrat to a young man whom we consider to be good congressional material in the fourth district — Max Hobbs, a native of Adams county who is practicing law in Fort Wayne. Today we’d like to introduce you to a possible candidate for secretary of state — John D. Bottorff, of Jackson county. John is presently state president of the Young Democrats of Indiana. Bottorff, a high school teacher at Culver where he is a government teacher and assistant basketball coach, is a graduate of Franklin College where he was a Phi Delt and Blue Key member; A member of Indiana State Teachers association, Indiana High School coaches association, the 625th Air Force Reserve unit, the Seymour Masonic Lodge, and the Cortland Christian Church, Bottorff is personable and would, we feel, do an excellent job as secretary of state for Indiana. We need good young men interested in politics to take a more active part. The job of secretary of state, which is quite responsible, is just such a job. Bottorff is well-known to many Adams county young Democrats, and was aided in his campaign by Jay DeVoss, of Decatur, who has been quite active in the college Young Democrats, and state Young Democrat organization. No articles will be published without signature of the author. „ O — 0 To The Editor: Having read your editorial regarding road signs on county roads, I would like to vote for them. Recently, I moved to Decatur from Marshall county, Indiana. There we had all county roads marked with road signs at all intersections, and it made traveling within the county very easy. Here in Adams county, I have considerable trouble in getting around due to unmarked roads. And of course since all the roads do not run strictly north, south, east or west, it makes it even more confusing. I believe that markers at all intersections woud be a great help to everyone traveling in Adams County.
