Geneva, Yellow Jackets Open Play Wednesday In Adams Central Tourney
The Adams Central sectional tournpy will get underway at 7 o’clock Wednesday evening at the Monroe gy.m site, with the Geneva Cardinals, for the second year In a row opening the festivities, this time against the Decatur Yellow Jackets. For the first time since 1940, the local sectional will not be a strictly Adams county affair, as, with the closing of the Pleasant Mills and Hartford Center high schools, Adams county has been reduced to only six high schools. To make a full eight-team meet, the IHSAA switched the Monroeville Cubs from the Fort Wayne sectional, and the Hoagland Wildcats from the Bluffton meet to Adams Central. The sectional game Wednesday, scheduled for tipoff at 8:15 p.m., will match the Berne Bears, who have won the sectional title for the past four years, -against the Monroeville Cubs. Monroeville, incidentally is the only Allen county rural school ever to have won the Fort Wayne sectional title. The first round of play will be completed with a pair of games
