OusPrmouA JI In times of testing, there ire three things to be done: first, put up a good fight, keep your head up, be persistent in the claim of victory; second, go on with the course you are sure is the right one, never permitting detours — put on extra gas; and third, keep the faith. You can lose all else, but if you keep your faith, in time your faith will keep you. The Church Invites You “Man is a spiritual being as well as a physical being," says Dr. Robert Fischer of Indiana University, “and only through personal faith in* Christ can any individual be made complete. We as Christians, individually and collectively, must be ever alert to the urgency of bringing the fullness of the Gospel to the whole man. The Bible says that in Christ are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge and we are complete in Hith. By opening our spiritual eyes, He gives all of knowledge new meaning and new relevance. The church proclaims the gospel of Christ which enables us to live more fully and effectively. WHY NOT ACCEPT THE INVITATION AND COME TO CHURCH NEXT SUNDAY? 4 HAPPY HOME Good things of life are often taken for granted and possibly our most prized possession in this country is freedom, and far too often we give little attention to the seeds of freedom. For example, liberty without responsibility becomes license. If we truly want to remain free, then we must cultivate personal and social responsibility in our children. Freedom is a two-way affair — for each inalienable right there is an inalienable responsibility. It is important that parents see that their children have every right to which they are entitled —right to health, right to a good education, right to love and companionship — but it must be emphasized that they in turn must make a contribution to the home and not only recognize but are glad to accept their responsibilities in making the home happy for all its members. I wfsdomW The Sunday School teacher was describing how Lot’s wife looked back, and turned into a pillar of salt. Little Johnny was much interested. “My mother looked back once,” he explained, “while she was driving,, and — and — she turned into a telephone pole!” NEW LIGHT CHRISTIAN T" CHURCH Rev. The Revised Standard Version of the Holy Bible, first published in 1052, is in direct line of descent from the translation made by the martyred Tyndale. Those who use the RSV today often overlook the price in human suffering which other generations have paid in order that the people of our age could read the Scriptures each in his own language. ***** f Approximately one hundred American religious, civic, and intellectual leaders issued an appeal of conscience calling on Russian officials to demonstrate “Truth, justice and decency” by lifting all restrictions against people of the Jewish faith in the U.S.S.R.
