county township research commission reports to the state that no change in township boundaries, either civil or school, is required. The Adams county highway department is cleaning the department's supply yard on High street, south of the Adams county memorial hospital. Keller, 18, Fort Wayne, Ind., was one of 40 high school seniors named Thursday as the “nation’s most promising young scientists" in the 23rd annual Westinghouse Science Talent Search. The 40 preliminary winners will come here to compete for $34,250 in scholarships and awards. The boy or girl judged the most promising scientist will get a four-year $7,500 scholarship. CLUB CREED OPENS MEETING The Decatur Bellmont Home Demonstration club met recently at the home of Mrs. Robert Geimer. Die meeting opened with the Chib creed. Roll call was answered by the members telling “something I plan to do this year." Mrs. Chalmer Barkley installed the officers in an impressive candelight ceremony. The. health and safety lesson entitled “First Aid for Poisoning,” was presented by Mrs. Elmo Lengerich Mrs. Thomas Harrell presented a lesson on meats. Mrs. Ronald Price closed the meeting by leading the group in repeating the club prayer. Die next meeting will be a “back to school” night at the home of Mrs. Don Roeder. ANNUAL CATHOLIC GIRL SCOUT BANQUET HELD Approximately 400 Girl Scouts’ and their families attended a carry-in banquet held at» the Community Center, Thursday. Each troop cleverly decorated its own table. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. Simeon Schmitt, chaplain of the group, gave a brief talk and introduced the entertainment Jor the evening provided by the Scouts. The three Brownie troops recited a poem and sang the "Brownie Smile" song. Die junior troop presented a skit entitled "What We Do As Girl Scouts,” and a reading entitled “Hiawatha.” Mary Gase and Louanne Becker played a clarinet duet accompanied at the piano by Susan Schurger. The program was concluded with the cadettes singing “Girl Scouts Together." Special guests in addition to Msgr. Schmitt were the Rev. Charles Ueber and the Rev. Eugene Fekete. The committee consisted of the cadette leaders, Mrs. Paul Gross and Mrs. Richard Feasel: junior leaders, Mrs. Robert Eash, Mrs. Andrew Miller, and Mrs. Ed Hammond; the Brownie leaders, Mrs. James McGill, Mrs. Joseph Schultz, Mrs. Diomas Miller, Mrs. Gerald Martin, Mrs. Kate Brandyberry, Mrs. Lester Kaehr, assisted by Ann and Susan Gross and Joan Gase. Commodores Frosh Defeated By Berne The Berne freshman basketball team downed the Decatur Catholic frosh by a 44-33 score Wednes- . .. .... ... .... The two teams were tied at the first period. 4-4, and Decatur led by a 16-15 score at halftime. Berne, however, outscored Decatur by a 17-5 margin in the third quarter and led 32-21 entering the final quarter. Kingsley, who scored 12 points in the third period, led all scorers with 16 tallies, while McGill’s 13 Ted Decatur.

Shrine Club Takes Children To Circus The Adams county Shrine club held its first meeting of 1964 recently at the Preble Gardens under the supervision of the newly elected officers: J. F. Sanmann, president; Stanley Baumgartner, vice president; Tom Lutes, secretary. and Albert Brushwiller, treasurer. Dr. H. R. Frey presented an interesting narration of the trip he and his wife made recently to South America, showing slides of the trip. The Shrine club will again sponsor the trip of all third grade pupils- in the Adams county schools to the Shrihe circus at the coliseum in Fort Wayne Saturday, Feb. 8. Robert L.
