ity credit for my earqings? A—You report your earnings for social security purposes on your' regular income tax return and send it to the internal revenue service. Be sure that your name, nature business, social security number, and net profit are show on the social security part (Schedule SE) of your tax return. 2. Q—l have never reported my earnings because I thought my business was not covered by socia) security. What can I do about this? A—You should prepare selfemployment tax reports for 1960 and all later years. If you do not file these by April 15, 1964, It will be too late to get social security credit for your 1960 earn-

ings. Remember that deadline! It is the same as the due date for your 1963 tax return. 4. Q —Just what earnings do I report on my SE reports for social security? A—You report your net profit up to S4BOO a year from the oper- . ation of your business. If you do not have as much as S4OO in profit, you do not report anything. You do not report other income such as rentals, interest, or pensions. Os course, if you worked as an employee under
social security during the year, you subtract any wages you were paid from S4BOO in figuring how much of your self-employment earnings is subject to the social security tax. 5. Q —What kind of social security benefits do self-employed persons get for the payment of these taxes? A—They become eligible for exactly the same retirement, survivors, and disability protection that wage earners have. Self-employed people receive
credit for 4 quarters of social security coverage for each year they net at least S4OO in profits. 6. Q—l retired on June 30, 1963 with total earnings of S2OOO and have been receiving social security benefits since July, 1963. Will it be necessary for me to file an annual report? A—Yes. Even though you did retire in June,. 1963 your earnings for the whole taxable year were over SI2OO and a report must be filed by April 15, 1964.
Restraining Order Dissolved By Judge INDIANAPOLIS (UPI) — A court border which had prohibited the Indiana War Memorials Commission from meeting and transacting business was dissolved Monday by Marion Circuit Judge John L. aimed at preventing the commission from allowing the Indiana Civil Liberties Union to use the War Memorial for meetings. The CLU has been trying for many months to gain permission to use the auditorium but has been blocked by commission votes. Governor Welsh has led the fight to open up the auditorium for the CLU, while the American Legion has taken the lead in opposing it. Niblack ruled on a motion from Atty. Gen. Edwin K. Steers, who contended the court had no right to block the actions of a state agency. The original restraining order against the commission was issued by Circuit Court Commissioner French M. Elrod.
