(UPI) — Dr. Karl O’Lessker, 35, Wabash College faculty member and former legislative assistant to Governor Welsh, has formally announced his long-expected candidacy for the Democratic nomination for Congress in the 6th District. O’Lessker announced Tuesday that he would seek the nomination for the seat now held by Republican incumbent Rep. Richard L. Roudebush of Noblesville whom he criticided as “a man whose greatest efforts have been devoted to expensive selfpublicizing and legislative favors for a few narrow interest groups.” O’Lessker is professor of American government and politics at Wabash and a former instructor af* Indiana University where he received his doctorate. In the 1963 Legislature, O’Lessker devoted most of his time to development of legislative reapportionment plans in an effort to help deadlocked lawmakers in ironing out the preplexing problem of redistricting legislative seats. In his announcement, O’Lessker said 6th District citizens are concerned that Roudebush “is either unwilling or unable to provide us with the kind of representation we are entitled to.” He said Roudebush had “aligned himself with an extremist faction of his own party” Chicago Livestock INDIANAPOLIS UPD—Livestock: ' v Hogs 6,500; barrows and gilts steady to strong to 25 higher; 1 and 2, 190-225 16 15.25-15.50; 1 to 3, 190-230 lb 14.75-15.25; 225-250 lb 14.25-14.75; sows ■steady , to weak; 1 to 3, 300-400 lb 12.00-13.00; 2 and 3, 400-600 lb 11.25-12.00. - Cattle 1,700; calves 100; steers steady to 25 higher; choice 22.75-23.75; prime. 24.00: good and low choice 22.00-22.75; good 20.50- heifers steady to strong to 25 higher; choice 2J.50-22.00; average choice 22.2522.50; good and low choice 21.0021.50; good 19.00-21.00; cows steady to 50 lower; utility and commercial 13.00-14.00; canner and ciitter 11.50-13.00; bulls strong; cutter to commercial 15.50- vealers steady; good and choice 27.00-34.00.
