The Zion Lutheran church was the scene of a double, ring wedding ceremony Saturday evening. The Rev. Richard Ludwig officiated to join in fnarriage Miss Ann Lucille Arnold and Robert Neal « Thorn. The altar was adorned with altar vases of white pompoms, candle holders with white candles lined the s aisle, and Christmas trees with red ornaments completed the decoration. Wedding music was provided by Don Bieberich, organist, who used selections including ‘‘Wedding Prayer,” “Let Us Ever Walk With Jesus” and “The Lord’s Prayer.” ' Escorted to the altar by her father, the bride appeared in a chapel length gown of satin faille,

in an empire style. The bodice was fashioned., with beading trim, elbow length sleeves and a scoop neckline. The gown was accented with an empire ‘line chapel train. The bride carried an arrangement of white rose buds centered with a large white rose. Mrs. Russell Maker 41, sister of the groom, served as matron of honor and selected a red deluna taffeta sheath gown with floorlength overskirt. An open box held her mhline veil. She carried a snow ball arrangement of white pompoms and holly. Bridesmaids, dressed identical to the honor attendant, were the Misses Judy Brodbeck. Julia Ellsworth, and Taya Erekson. David Thorn stood as his brother’s best man with Tom Arnold, Steve Thorn and John Orr serving as groomsmen. For her son’s wedding, Mrs. Thorn was wearing an emerald green floor length gown with white accessories and a corsage of white poinsettias. Immediately following the ceremony a reception was held in the parish hall w» it h approximately 250 guests attending. The threetiered wedding cake was decorated with white roses and topped with a floral arrangement. Serving at the reception were Miss Sue Haven, Hinsdale, Ill.; Miss Peggy Floyd, Fort Wayne; Miss Bert Wickens, Seymour, Miss Reta Sparks, New Albany; Miiss Cindy Gable,, Fort Wayne', and Miss Sue DeLong, Franklin. Sunday at 6:24 a. m., a 7 Ib., 10 oz. baby girl was born to Gene and Florence Bienz Moser, 804 North Second street, Decatur. 14-Year-Old Girl Is Killed h Fire SCHERERVILLE, Ind. (UPI) —Linda Carol Bumpus, 14, was killed when flames trapped her inside her home and rescue attempts by her father failed although the rest of the family escaped. The body o’s Linda\ \a Jhigh school freshman, was fouiid by volunteer firemen beside a window in the trailer portion of the combination house trailer-frame structure dwelling. Her father, Albert Bumpus, 46, a steel worker, told authorities the blaze broke out before dawn Sunday, He tried to pull Linda through one of the trailer’s small windows^but failed. - His other two children and wife were treated for burns after he led them to safety. Sandra, 17, and John, 11, were admitted to Hammond’s St. Margaret’s Hospital. Bumpus and his wife, Jacqueline, 41, were treated and released. The cause of the fire was not determined. Volunteer firemen from nearby communities fought the blaze but were unable to save the small house about a mile south of here. Authorities said the family lost everything but what they wore. Mrs. Thorn was wearing a white A-line dress with black accessories. y The bride, eldest daughter of Kenneth Arnold, 126 Limberlost Trail, is a graduate of Decatur high school, attended Indiana University and Franklin College and is emp’oyed by the Indiana and Michigan Electric company, Fort Wayne. The groom, son of Mr. and Mrs. Morris L. Thorn, route 3, New Albany, is a graduate of New Albany high school and will graduate from Franklin College in January. ’ The couple will temporarily make their home at 126 Limberlost Trail. Miss Rita Agler, daughter of Mr.. Elmer Agler, route 2. Convoy, 0., and Leslie D. Stewart, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Stewart, route 2, Ohio City, 0., were joined in marriage Sunday in a double ring ceremony at the Mentzel Methodist church. The Rev. Raymond Jewel, assisted by the Rev. Albert Straley and the Rve. William Myers, officiated. A white carpet graced the way to an altar bedecked with large bou? quets of white ’mums and red carnations. Mrs. Opal Bell, organist, played selections including “O Promise Me,” “I Love You Truly,” “Indian Love Call,” and vocalist Jerry Roth sang “Because” and “The Lord’s Prayer” to provide the wedding music. The bride, given in marriage by her father, selected a gown of white satin. The bodice was fashioned with a portrait neckline and long tapered sleeves. Alencon lace edged the neckline and fitted waist. A three-tiered bow swept to a chapel length train. Her bouffant veil of. imported English illusion fell from a half hat of satin leaves studded with pearls. The bride carried an arrangement of red rose buds and white baby mums atop a white Bible. Mrs. Janice Wise, matron of honor, appeared in a street length dress of red velvet, featuring a portrait neckline, long sleeves, and a bell shaped skirt. Her headpiece consisted of a white fur pill box hat. She carried an arrangement of red poinsettias on a white fur muff. Mrs. Ann Pancake and Mrs. Ardith Howell served as bridesmatrons and were dressed identical to the honor attendant. 17 Indiana Senate Democrats Confer INDIANAPOLIS (UPD— Seventeen Indiana Senate Democrats met here Saturday to discuss party policy and, according to one senator, to sound out Senate Minority Marsh a 1 Kizer’s gunber¥S toriaL chances.. A statement released later by Kizer, of Plymouth, said the group- agreed to support abolition of the household goods tax, a comment that was met with an almost immediate rebuff from State Rep. Edward Madingef, R-Indianapqlis. One of the senators present who asked not. to be identified, said he felt the “m»in item of business” was to boost Kizer for the party’s 1964 gubernatorial nomination. He said Kizer Indicated at the end' of the meeting that, he would have some sort of announcement in the near future. A statement, issued, over Kizer’s signature following the meeting outlined the reason for the meeting, the first of several it said. • “We felt it important for the people of Indiana and the Democratic party to see to it that history does not repeat itself. One 1963 Legislature is enough for any state,” the statement said.
Al Pancake stood as best man, with Larry Wise and Clair Dugeon as groomsmen. Mrs. Agler, mother of the bride chose a crepe dress with satin trim and matching accessories. The groom’s mother-select-ed a beige two piece dress with brown accessories. Both mothers wore corsages of red roses. Immediately following the ceremony a reception was held In the church basement. Centering the serving table was a five-tiered wedding cake accented with red roses. Miss Margaret Campbell, Mrs. Sharon Agler and Mrs. Leigh Ann Agler served at the reception. . ' . For a wedding trip to Florida the new Mrs. Stewart was wearing a light blue Thohair sheath. The bride is a graduate of Crestview high school? Two Autos Badly Damaged In Wreck Two autos wpre heavily damaged. one considered a total loss, in an accideht at 10:30 p.m. Saturday on county road 27%. - 1 The crash occurrred one-half mile north and six and one-half miles east of Berne, when autos operated by Rex Elgene Kuhn, 20, route 2, Rerne. and Raymond L. Biggs, route 2, Geneva, sideswiped each other. Snow was piled along both sides of the road and according -to the invrstieating officers the two vehicles did not have enough roonf to pass. Kuhn was northbound and his 1963 model car received nn estimated $750 damage.
