MISS SHARON BAKER HONORED AT SHOWER Miss Sharon Baker, December 28 bride-elect of Robert Walters, was the guest of honor at a bridal shower given Wednesday by Mrs, Eugene Baker. Upon arrival, Miss Baker was presented with a corsage. Games were played with prizes being won by Mrs. Smith Snively, Mrs. Harold Bohnke, Miss Ann Omlor, who inturn presented them to the guest of honor. The bride*' _ elect then opened her many, lovely gifts which were arranged on a table decorated in the Christmas tradition, using the bride’s bridal colors. Delicious refreshments were then served the honored guest and the Mesdames Dayton Swickard, Harold Baker, E. ’J. Gundrsum, Harold Bohnke, Charles Omlor, Ernest Fullenkamp, James Inskeep, Robert Frefby, Smith Snively, yid Miss Ann Omlor. Unable to attend but sending gifts were the Mesdames John Boch, Vernon Hill, Ronald Hoffman, Fred Baker, Jr. Arthur Baker, William Baker, Kenneth Angle, John Spaulding, Robert Anderson, and Roger Schuster.

STRICKLER FAMILY MEETS HERE SUNDAY The annual Strickler family Christmas get together was he'd Sunday at the Decatur Youth and Community Center with a carry-in dinner. Births At the Adams county memorial hospital: Anthony and Virginia Clauser Yoder, Berne, are parents of a baby girl bom Saturday at 6:32 p.m. The baby weighed 7 lbs. and 4 oz. A baby girl weighing 7 lbs. and 11 oz., was born Sunday at 12:27 a.m. to Joseph and Rosemary Ottenweller Gremaux, route 5, Decatur. Hoosier Killed In North Carolina Crash MIDDLESEX, N. C. (UPD— Charles D. Byrd, 27, Columbus, Ind., was killed Saturday when a car in which he was riding overturned and struck a tree four miles west of here.

The altar of the First Mennonite church of Berne, adorned with candelabra and ferns and two baskets of white carnations, formed a lovely background for the wedding of Miss Rita Philippine Neuenschwander and Melvin Gorman Augsburger. Parents of the young couple are Mr. and Mrs. Peter J. Neuenschwander, route 2, Geneva, and Mr. and Mrs. Gorman Augsburger, route 1, Geneva. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Gordon Neuenschwander, at seven-thirty o’clock December 14. A musicale preceded the ceremony, with Mrs. Sherman Stucky as organist, and vocalists were Mr. and Mrs. Don Myers. Musical selections included a solo by Don Myers, “Christian Wedding Song,” and an organ solo by Mrs. Stucky. A duet “The Lord is My Shepherd,” wa§ sung by Mr. and Mrs. Myers. Given in marriage by her father, the bride chose a gown of white peau satin, scooped neckline and elbow length sleeves. A. beaded cumberband accented her full gathered skirt falling to a flowing chapel train. Her veil was of pure silk bouffant bridal illusion topped by a crystal crown. She carried red and white roses. Her maid of honor was her sister, Elsie Neuenschwander and Veda Sfnith, a friend, was bridesmaid. Their gowns were rouge velveteen, ballerina length, and a bow accented their modified skirts. They wore white maribou hats and carried a cascade of peppermint carnations. The groom selected friends for his attendants, the best man was Tom Myers and the groomsman was Calvin Morgan. Ushers were Lynn and Steven Neuenschwander, brothers of the bride, and Leonard Augsburger, brother of the groom, and Dick Hanni, friend of the groom. The bride’s mother wore green wool sheath with black and white accessories and the groom’s mother was attired in a brown suit with brown accessories. Both mothers wore corshges of peppermint carnations.
The bride is a graduate of Geneva high school of 1962 and is em--ployed at C. T. S. of Berne. The groom is also a graduate of Geneva high school of the same year

C. Koger, 55, Indianapolis, a conductor for the Baltimore & 0hi0.., Railroad, was killed Sunday, when he tripped and struck his while stepping off a train. ■ Koger, an employe of the jailroad 22 years, was a conductor the past 15 years.

George Hawkihs, of 122 N. 15th street, underwent surgery for a brain tumor at Parkview memorial, hospital this afternoon; at 1 p.m. The tumor was discovered last week when he fainted at w'ork. John F, Rosier, teacher in the Adams Central high school, was admitted to the Cleveland Clinic hospital Sunday, where he was ta have abdominal surgery today. The hospital is located at Euclid Avenue and East 93rd street. The Donald Norquest family had Christmas dinner Sunday with their daughter, Carol, and son-in-law, John R. Dugan and new grandson, Michael. The Dugans live in Indianapolis. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Owens and daughter Linda, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Lybarger and daughters. Shawn and Lori of Cheyenne, Wyo., are in Decatur to spend the holidays with relatives and friends. Mrs. Frank Morrison, 504 South Fifth street, suffered a heart attack Sunday evening and is in the Adams county memorial hospital. Her room number is 330.
MONMOUTH FHA HAS CHRISTMAS MEETNG The Monmouth chapter of the FHA held their Christmas meeting recently at the home of Cynthia Boerger. The group first arrived at the Monmouth high school at 6:15 to go caroling at the North Adams community banquet, Adams County'farm home, Adams countv memorial hospital and several other places. Following the caroling the members then went to the Boerger home for a gift exchange qn<j refreshments which were tested by the hostesses, Cynthia Boerger, Kristine Fuelling and Karen Fuelling. The Women of the Moose will have a meeting Thursday evening at 8 o’clock at the Moose home. A story hour will be held at the public library Saturday afternoon at one-thirty o’clock.
