Miss Marilyn Myers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harlen Myers, Wren, Ohio, became the bride of Richard D. Etzler, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Etzler, route 2, Convoy, in a ceremony at 7:30 p.m. Satur- • day, November 30, in the Convoy Lutheran Country church. The Rev. G. F. Gerken performed the double-ring ceremony. The church was decorate with two cathedral-type candelabra with single candelabrum on each side of the kneeling bench. Antique gold and white beauty vases held bouquets of white chrysanthemums, and the altar vases

were also of white chrysanthemums. White satin wedding bows marked the pews and the aisle was graced with the traditional white wedding carpet. A twenty-minute musicale was presented by Mr. and Mrs. Reginald Clifton. Clifton played several organ numbers including the traditional wedding march and Mrs. Clifton sang “Walk Hand In Hand” and “Oh Perfect Love.” As the couple knelt at the altar she sang “The Wedding Prayer.” The bride, given in marriage by her father, appeared in a chapellength gown of silk-faced peau
and handiclipped chantilly lace. The basque handiclipped chantilly 1b ce bodice enhanced with tiny seed and oat pearls featured a jewel neckline and three-quarter-length sleeves. The slim silhouette skirt was fashioned with chantil- i ly lace panel, was highlighted with a sweeping bouffant train. Her three-tier veil of silk illusion was caught to a double coronet crown sparkling with pearl and aurora detail. The bride carried a modem flowing bouquet of white snow-drift pompoms accented with pink sweet-heart roses and the traditional stephanotis. Mrs. Cameron Farrier, friend of the bride, was matron of honor in a copen blue street-length gown of velvet with modified scoop necklines, elbow-length sleeves, and self-appliqued rcses acc?nting the back detail of the skirt. She wore a matching pillbox with bow trim caught to a double pouf veil and matching shoes. Bridesmaids were Linda Merry, niece of the bride, and Frances Etzler, sister of the. bridegroom. They were dressed identical to the matron of honor. They carried colonial bouquets of pink carnations; white pompoms with pink ribbon trim. The pearl necklaces they wore were gifts from the bride. Little Miss Bobpi Jo Kitchenmaster was flower girl in a baby blue dress. She carried a white net basket filled with pink sweet- 1 heart roses and white pom-poms and wore a head band of pink sweetheart roses. Kent Ward, cousin of the groom, was best man. Ushers were Richard Morgan, brother-in-law of the bride, and Arthur "Eversole, friend of the groom. Micheal Merry, nephew of the bride, was ring bearer. The men in the wedding party,, including the groom’s father, wore white coats and black trousers and had pink cannation buttonnieres with the exception of the groom, who wore a sprig of stephanotis taken from the bridal bouquet. The mother of the bride chose a Silver-gray dress with jacket with black accessories and the bridegroom’s mother wore a mint green brocade sheath with beige accessories. Both had corsages of yellow roses. White carnation corsages were presented to Mrs. Andrew Etzler and Mrs. Lester Boyd, grandmothers of the groom. A reception following the ceremony was held in the parish hall. A four-tiered wedding cake decorated with blue roses graced the linen-covered table and cake, nuts, mints, ice cream, punch and coffee were served. Serving the guests were Sharon Oechsle and Melbad|ne Lowe, 'cousins of t h e bride." Mrs. Charles Merry, sister of the bride, cut the cake. Mrs. Richard Morgan, sister of the bride, registered the guests and recorded the gifts. She was presented a white carnation corsage. Assisting with the gifts was Chucky Merry, nephew of the bride. After a wedding trip to the South the couple is residing at routV 2, Convoy. The bride, a graduate of 'Wren school, is employed at the National Seal. The groom, a graduate of Crestview High school, is employed at the B. F. Goodrich in Woodburn. FAIRWAY CHRISTMAS PARTY HELD BY BETA SIGMA PHI Beta Sigma Phi, Epsilon Sigma chapter, held its annual Christmas party at the Fairway Restaurant. The tables were decorated ■ with Christmastrees, candles and favors which carried out the Chrit- ■ mas theme. I A dinner was served followed by entertainment provided by a barber shop quarxet, consisting of Barry Lehman, Loren Arnold, Tarry Merriman and Charles Kester. Games were played and the prizes were won by Ann McDonald and Jan Secaur. A gift exchange concluded the events of the evening.

The St. Luke’s United Church of Christ, Honduras, was the scene of a double-ring ceremony Sunday evening, uniting Miss Marcia L. Zimmerman and Peter Alden Poorman. The. Rev. Robert Oleson performed the ceremony. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Joe H. Zimmerman, route 4, and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph D. Poorman, 1202 N. Anthony, EMMAUS GUILD PARTY HELD LAST TUESDAY The' Emmaus guild held its Christmas party December 10, at the Zion Lutheran parish hall. Henrietta Snively gave the history of “Silent Night’* then the group sang the first stanza of the song. The roll was taken with 27 members present, and Mrs. Walter Roeh was a guest. •. Various committees gave their reports, . The meeting was closed with the Lord's Prayer and turned' over to the entertainment committee. The group played indoor golf and prizes were won by Barbara Osterman and Mary Nelson. Lunch was then served on lovely Christmas - decorated tables. Christmas carols were sung and a gift exchange was given by matching numbers. The hostesses for the evening were Clarice Porter, Justine Bowman, Mary Alice Conrad and Aileen Witte. The Ruth' and Naomi Circle, United Church of Christ, will have ! a potluck dinner at noon Wednesday. Members are urged to bring • a covered dish and own table ’ service, also reminded of the Christmas projects. Fort Wayne. Miss Carol Haggard, friend of the bride, was her only attendant, and a fraternity brother, Chuck Leonard, was best man. The bride attended Indiana University and is employed by the Fort Wayne YWCA. The groom attended Ball State Teachers College and is affliated with the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. He is employed by the Fort Wayne city park board. After the ceremony, Mr. and Mrs. Poorman received guests at the Lighted Acres. They will make their home at 141 Maveriek avenue. It will provide opportunity for humble adoration and worship of Christ tl)e Saviour and Lord. Participating in the program will be Mrs. Lowell Harper, Mrs. Ed Hagan, Mrs. Dick Schauss, Mrs. Royal Friend. Mrs. Wilbur Petrie and Miss Fan Hammell.
