JUNIOR WOMEN’S CLUB HOLDS CHRISTMAS PARTY The Junior Women’s club met Monday at the home of "Mrs. Ferris Kohne. Seventeen members and one guest, Mrs. Dan Davis enjoyed the annual potluck Christmas dinner. The center piece from the table decorations was won by Mrs. Robert Gase. The group donated a box of canned goods to the Good Fellows. The committee for this meeting was Mrs. Barbara Kohne, Mrs. Fronia Clayton, -Mrs. Shirley Casalini, Mrs .Sharon Cowans and Mrs. Pam Smith. The January meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Thomas Hoffman. Each girl is urged tp bring a coloring book or crayons which will be donated to the children’s ward at the hospital. DAV AUXILIARY HELD CHRISTMAS PARTY MONDAY The DAV auxiliary held its annual Christmas party Monday with ten members present. A carry-in super was served at 7 p.m. Christmas carols were played during supper. The meat and potatoes for the meal were furnished by the auxiliary, and prepared by Adah Weldy, Chrystal Hook, and Lucile Bodie. The tables were beautifully decorated by Joan Hodle and Dorothy Bailer. The gifts were registered by Mabie Eyanson. After supper a $1 gift exchange was held and game were played, with prizes awarded to the following: Adah Weldy, Vernon Venis, Joan Hodle, Dorothy Bailer, Mabie Eyanson, Faye Kitson, Charlotte Stevens, Fern Augsburger, and Chrystal Hook. A short meeting was held after the entertainment. BETA SIGMA PHI PARTY AT FAIRWAY The Xi Alpha Xi chapter of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority held their annual Christmas party at the Fairway restaurant. The long table at which the dinner was served was decorated with small Christmas trees and lighted candles. An exchange of gifts was held. Mrs. Robert Blaney and Mrs. Luella El'sworth were on the committee in charge. The next meeting will be a business meeting at the I & M building January 14. The hostess will be Mrs. A. J. Reichart, and Mrs. Carl Gattshall and Mrs. Fred Fruchte will be program leaders.
EAGLES AUXILIARY PLANS CHRISTMAS PARTY TUESDAY The Eagles Auxiliary met recently with 14 members present. Phyllis Raudenbush received the door prize. Plans were completed for the auxiliary Christmas party to be held next Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. The party will be a carry-in dinner, with the meat and potatoes being furnished by the auxiliary. There will also be a $1 Christmas exchange. . Plans were also made to attend the district meet at Bluffton Saturday at 2 p.m. Any auxiliary member wishing to go may call Fem Augsburger at 3-4503 or Lucile Bodie at 3-4780, not later than Friday evening. A check for $5 was sent to the Good Fellows Club. The auxiliary also plans to send a Christmas present to each person at the county home at Christmas. The meeting closed to open again next Wednesday at 8 p.m. The change of meeting night is due to the regular meeting falling on Christmas Eve. MRS. ROY STUCKY NEW CLUB PRESIDENT Profit and Pleasure Home Demonstration club met recently at the home of Mrs. Alton Corson for their annual carry-in Christmas supper and gift exchange. After the dinner the meeting was called to order by the president, Mrs. Roy Stucky. The club creed was repeated. Fifteen members answered roll call — “How I found out about Santa Claus.” A former charter member, Mrs. Lucy Schnepp, was a guest. The new officers for the year 1964 were installed by past president, Mrs. Ralph Bluhm: President, Mrs. Roy Stucky; vice president Mrs. William H. Kohne; secretary, Mrs. Ralph Bluhm; treasurer, Mrs. Wilbur Lengerich; leaders, Mrs. Elton Corson and Mrs. Harry C. Andrews; alternate leaders, Mrs. Herman Bosse and Mrs. Roman Brite; health and safety leader, Mrs. Leonard Schwaller; citizenship leader, Mrs. Henry Heiman; song leader, Mrs. Kenneth Sanders. Santa Claus arrived in the person of Mrs. Alton Corson and distributed the beautifully wrapped gifts from beneath the very attractively decorated Christmas tree. The meeting closed with all looking forward to beginning the 1964 calendar with a meeting in January at the home of Mrs. Kenneth Sanders. ST. GERARD PARTY AT JAMES ROOP HOME The home of Mrs. James Roop was the scene of the St.- Gerard’s Studv club’s Christmas party. Christmas music was played during the evening and several games were enjoyed. The dinner table was gaily decorated in the Christmas theme and the members were served a light luncheon of holiday cut sandwiches, chips, pie, mints and coffee. The door prize was awarded to Mrs. Ed Linder, Mrs. James Meyers and Mrs. Dick Des Jean assisted Mrs. Roop with the arrangements. • CHURCH MOTHERS MEET AT MRS. COLLIER’S Twenty-two members and a guest, Mrs. Lowell Smith, attended the Christmas party of the Church Mothers Study club at the home of Mrs. Doyle Collier. The meeting was opened with the club song. Mrs. Karl Johnson, club ptesident, gave the devotions, “What Christmas Really Means.” Mrs. Kenneth Watkins, program chairman, led the group in singing Christmas carols, accompanied by Mrs. Stan Kling. “When Christmas comes to Bethlehem” was the title of a very interesting talk given by Mrs. Lowell Smith. At the close of the meeting a gift exchange was held. • Delicious' refreshments were served by the hostesses, Mrs. Collier, Mrs. Mel Tinkham, Mrs. Spencer Andrews, and Mrs. Ronald Gerber. MRS. EREKSON TO BE ON LINCOLN PTA PROGRAM .. The Lincoln school PTA will have its annual Christmas program Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. The morning kindergarten class will present the opening followed by Mrs. Reid Erekson, popular local entertainer, who will tell “Die Story of the Other Wise Man.” The afternoon kindergarten class will close the program. “Do plan to be with us for a lovely program that will leave you filled with the spirit of Christmas,” the chairman stated. There will be no baby-sitting service this month, but the regular procedure will be resumed in January. The Golden Age Group will meet Thursday, Dec. 19 at 7:30 p.m. in the lounge of the First Methodist church. ru K. The 39’ers Christmas party and exchange of gifts will be held Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at the Decatur Community Center. The Bethany Circle of the United Church of Christ will meet at the home of Mrs. Ann Lehman at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. The Root township Home Demonstration club will meet at the home of Mrs. Fred Kunkle Tuesday at 11 a.m, for a carry-in dinner and $1 Christmas exchange. MRS. BULTEMEIER, MRS. SHANNON ANNOUNCE GOOD FELLOWS PLAN The Good Fellows club committee has planned for delivery to the needy to be made Dec. 23, with all sorority members helping, Mrs. Wilmer Bultemeier and Mrs. Kenneth Shannon, co-chair-men of the committee, told the Delta Theta Tau sorority members at their annual Christmas dinner meeting Wednesday at the home of Misses Mary Catherine and Rosemary Spangler. Mrs. John McConaha was the assisting hostess for the meeting. The 23 guests were seated at three gaily decorated tables. Candles centered each table, each being different. The entire home was tastefully decorated. Following dinner the business meeting was conducted by the president, Mrs. McConaha. The secretary’s report was given by Mrs. Lofton Rich, and Mrs. John Baumann gave the treasurer's report. The Good Fellows project for the weekend will start with work at the fire station Dec. 21-22, and distribution Dec. 23. Then Santa Claus arrived, and distributed gifts. The next meeting will be Jan. 14, at the home of Mrs. Lyle Mallonee. ’* Reckless Driving Charged Motorist Ronald Leßoy Smith, 16, of Monroe, was arrested Wednesday night by the city police and charged with reckless driving. Smith was arrested at 10:30 p.m. on Jefferson St., and cited to appear in justice of the peace court Monday.

The Ira Bodies have returned home from California where they visited their son, Odes, who Jives in North Hollywood. While there they met the Chilcote families, Bessie Cowait and her two sons, Kenneth and Charles, and their families. They live in Whitted, Calif. They made the trip by train, going out by Union Pacific and returning by Santa Fe.
