HUSBANDS GUESTS AT HOPE CIRCLE PARTY The Hope Circle of the W. S. W. S. of the Union Chapel church held a Christmas party and carryin dinner, Sunday, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Koos, with the husbands of, the members as guests. Mrs. Wilber Foor was in charge of the program and used as her topic “Glory to God — On Earth, Peace.” Scripture was lead by Mrs. Earl Chase, Mrs. Robert Workinger, and Mrs. Sherman Koos prior to group singing of Christmas carols. Articles on “What Is Peace?” ai>d “Peace .Is Responsibility” we're presented by Mrs. Wayne Troutner, Robert Workinger, William Welker, and Earl Chase. The closing meditation was given by the leader, Mrs. Foor, and the closing prayer was offered by Mrs. Wayne Troutner. Miss Janet Brown, circle chairman, was in charge of the business meeting, at which time officers were elected for the coming year. Elected to office were Mrs. Wayne Troutner, circle chairman; Mrs. Earl Chase, secretarytreasurer; Mrs. Sherman Koos, secretary of missionary education; Miss Janet Brown, secretary of local church responsibilities; and Mrs. Robert Workinger, secretary of Christian social relations.. The next meeting will be a general metting held at the church, January 9, at 7:30 p. m. Mrs. Fred Corah, 212 Limberlost Trail, will be hostess to the welcome Wagon club Thursday at 8 p.m. Members are to bring a $1 gift for the exchange. The Ruth Circle of the Decatur E. U. B. church will meet Thursday at the home of Mrs. Raymond Lanternier, 423 South Wayne street, Bluffton, at 7:30 p.m. Mrs. William Dellinger is leader. Members of all departments of the Woman’s club are reminded of the general meeting to be held Monday at 8 p.m. at the Community Center. The Art department is in charge of the program and will present Tom Lutes, who will give a demonstration on the art of arranging flowers and suggestions for Christmas decorations.

The Gals and Pals Home Demonstration club will meet at the Pleasant Mills school, Monday at 7:30 p.m. The Pythian Sisters Needle club will ,meet after Temple at the Moose Home at 7 :30 p.m. Monday for its Chrsitmas party. Hostesses will be the Mesdames Bert Haley, Carl Mar nett, Marlin Doan, J. F. Myers, Russell Owens, and Nettie Jacobs. A business meeting will be held by the D. A. V. Auxiliary at the D. A. V. haU, Monday beginning at 7:30 p.m. The Junior Women of the Decatur Woman’s club will have a potluck dinner and Christmas party, Monday at 6:30 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Ferris Kohne. Mrs. Ivan Stucky will be hostess to the Dorcas Circle of the Decatur E. U. B. church with a dinner at her home Thursday at 6 p.m. Mrs. Marshia Smith is in charge of the program. Members are reminded that if they have not already turned in their thank offering boxes they may do do at this meeting. The Everready Sunday School class of the Methodist church will meet at the church Thursday for a supper party beginning at 6:30 p.m. Members are to bring their own table service. The annual Christmas party for members of the Decatur Volunteer firemen’s auxiliary will be held Friday at the fire station. The party will begin at 5 p.m. and members are to bring a $1 gift for the exchange and a white, elephant prize. The St. Joe Jills and Merry 4H’ers will hold their 4-H achievem en t meeting at the Catholic school auditorium Thursday at 7:30 p.m. Miss Ann Allwein will show her slides of her recent trip to Norway and various 4-H awards will be presented. The Church of the Nazarene was the scene of a double ring wedding ceremony Saturday evening. The Rev. Wilmer Watson read the vows to join in marriage Miss Susan Jane Maines and Richard Lee Landrum. A white carpet graced the way to an altar adorned with candelabra and arrangements of white gladioluses. Wedding music was provided by Mrs. Leo Roe, organist, and Mrs. Otho Suman, vocalist, who used selections entitled “Wedding ART AND MUSIC DEPT. HOLD CHRISTMAS PARTY The Art and Music departments of the Decatur Woman’s club met for a joint Christ dinner party, Monday evening at the beautifully decorated Four Seasons restaurant. After repeating the club collect, led by Miss Charlotte Vera of the Art department and Mrs. Ferris Bower of the Music department, each group was served a delicious meal while seated at tables decorated in keeping with the Christmas season. Following the dinner a delightfully entertaining program was presented. Miss Vera introduced the girls double trio from Decatur high school composed of Sharon Harden, Patty Collins, Jane Jacobs, Lynette Dedolph, Ka r 1 a Myers, and Barbara Conrad. They were accompanied by Miss Helen Haubold on the piano and Becky Lord on the celesta. The group sang songs entitled “Little Things This Christmastide,” “O Holy Night,” and “Silver Bells.” Mrs. Jethro Sprunger introduced Mrs. Ervin Beeler of Bluffton, who presented a humorous monologue entitled “Aunt Fanny.” During the social hour that followed members enjoyed a gift exchange. The committees in charge were Mrs. W. W. Cravens, Miss Vera, and Mrs. Ray Eichenauer of the Art department, and Mrs. Sprunger and Miss -Alice Roth of the Music department. The Ladies Fellowship of the Decatur Missionary church will meet at the home of Mrs. Myron Hart for a Christmas party, Thursday at 6:30 p.m. I The Monroe Better Homes home demonstration club will have their annual Christmas party and gift exchange at the Dutch Mills in Bluffton Moday at 6 p.m. The Our Lady of Victory Discussion club will meet at the Fairway restaurant at 6:30 Thursday evening for a Christmas party dinner, following the meal they will meet at the home of Mrs. Elmo Miller for their regular meeting.

Seed pearls and alencon lace enhanced the dainty neckline and cu mmerband. Matching fabric roses adorned the back waistline and a full back detachable train of chapel length gave accent to the gown. The bride carried an arrangement of white garcia pom pom mums and sheel pink carnations. Her bouffant veil of pure silk English illusion was held to a crown of matching fabric roses encircled with crystals and seed pearls. Miss Dee Maines served as her sister's maid of honor and wore a pink’brocade dress with .matching accessories. A pink fabric rose held a pink veil. Miss Maines carried’an arrangement of white gracia pom ponj mums, American beauty roses and pink carnations. Miss .Donna Maines, sister of the bride, served as bridesmaid and was dressed identical to the honor, attendant. John Sommer stood as best man, wjth Tom Col ch in, Ronald Maines and Bob Landrum seating the guests. For her daughter’s wedding, Mrs. Maines chose a blue pleated dress with black accessories and a corsage of z white carnations. Mrs. Landrum, mother of the groom, selected a turquoise blue sheath dress with black and white accessories and a corsage of white carnations. Immediately following the ceremony a reception was held at the Central Soya union hall for approximately 200 guests. Serving at the reception were the Misses ' Kathryn Rash, Dian Maines, Nancy Christener and Sandy Hullinger. Miss Charlsie Clark registered the gifts. The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Maines, route 4, is a graduate of Decatur high school. The' groom,- whose parents are. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Landrum, 1038 North Second street, is also a Decatur graduate and is an auto repairman at Landrum and Sons body shop. Locals Miss Alma Elizabeth Reppert has returned to Elkhorn, Wis., after spending the -Thankgiving holidays with her mother, Mrs. Alma Reppert. Decatur Men Attend State C. C. Meeting Several Decatur businessmen are attending the annual meeting of the Indiana Chamber of Commerce today in Indianapolis. Attending with- the Decatur group are E. E. Rydell, local Chamber president, George W. Auer, Charles Ehihger, Lowell Harper, Carl Gerber, Ralph Biggs, Ed Hagan, Noah Steury, and W. Guy Brown, executive secretary of the local Chamber. Carl Luginbill of Berne made the trip with the Decatur group. The meeting is a luncheon affair, which begfin at 12 noon m the Egyptian room of the Murat Temple in the state capitol. Principal speaker was Gerald L. Phillippee, president of the General Electric Co., who was to speak on “Everyone’s Stake in a Good Community Climate."
