The contract between the fanboard and the corixiration spelled out the, corporation must carry public liability insurance “in the amount of SIOO.OOO per injury and $300,000 per accident.". , . Melvin Ross, general manager of the coporation, said Friday the firm carries insurance totaling $500,000 or SIOO,OOO per injury. Preliminary investigations in-, dicated a faulty valve on a tank of bottled gas used by a -concession stand was responsible for the explosion, Although not confirmed, it was thought the concession also probably carried liability insurance. The cor[x>rat ion’s contract with the fair board, which began Oct. 1, 1959 and runs through Aug. 1, 1964, also stipulates the fair board is “free from . liability from any accident. . .occurring at. _thc.._ Um during -the period of the lessee’s occupancy.”
