selected as Psi Ote representative to Girls State next spring. Miss Barbara Rydell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gene Rydell, was named alternate. A S3OO donation was made to the music department of Decatur Catholic high school for the purchase of new band uniforms. The social hour was presented by Charles Kent, who showed his beautiful collection of rocks and explained how them were made into jewelry. Refreshments were served by the hostesses, the Mesdames Harold Bohnke, Enos Osterman, Larry Elliott, Ted Hill, and the Misses Alice Roth and Diane Sauer. DELTA THETA TAU HAS PLEDGE SERVICE . Omicron chapter of Delta Theta Tau sorority held a “ghost convention’’ in EJting’s Acres for its six pledges. Mesquerading members and pledges were registered by giving each a name tag bearing the name of a TV personality to be guessed by the - A never skit entitled, “ghost convention,” was given by the pledges: Florence Anderson, Janet Clark,' Beth Garner, Jean Koons, Donna Shraluka, Verla Sweere, and the president, Sue McConaha. Convention headquarters, at the home of Alice ißultemeier, was appropriately decorated in Halloween style. Assiting hostesses were Jane Lybarger and Jo Ann Shannon. Various other Halloween activities entertained all present. Impressive pledge services were conducted by Rosemary Spangler, assisted by Mary Catherine Spangler, Irene Krueckeberg and Harriet Mallonee. The Delta opening ceremony, brief business meeting, said the Delta closing ceremony was conducted by the president. AU members are reminded to be at the CaUithumpian parade to seU popcorn. Delicious refreshments were served by the hostesses at the end of the evening. The initiation services wiU be at six-thiry November 12 at the Elks. At seven-thirty, a buffet wUI be served at the Four Seasons restaurant. Initiation practice wiU be at six-thirty November 11 at the Elks. Mrs. Raymond P. Lantemier, the former Gayle Custer, selected for her wedding at the Trinity E. U. B. church Sunday afternoon, a gown of imported chantiUy lace and bouffant taffeta. The fitted taffeta bodice was fashioned with a scoop neckline trimmed with irridescent sequins and seed pearls. Long lace sleeves tapered to points over her hands. A front panel of lace outlined with lace flowerettes and a scaUoped hemline detailed the taffeta skirt. Soft folds of taffeta with a flat bow accented the back which swept into a lace and taffeta paneled' chapel-length train. Her bridal bouquet consisted of a white Bible topped with a lovely arrangement of stephonitis, white orchids, and miniature ivy entwined with satin streamers. Her fingertip veU of imported French iUusion was held to a crown of lace and seed pearls with crystals. The bride was escorted on a white carpeted aisle by her father to an altar adorned with vases of gold and bronze pompoms and Swedish candelabra when the Rev. F. E. Miller, assisted by the Rev. Rex Custer, La Grange, read the vows. Providing the wedding music were Miss Kaye Wynn, organist, and Mrs. F. E. MiUer, soloist, who sang “The Lord’s Prayer,” “0 Perfect Love’ and the “Wedding Prayer.’ Mrs.- Ronald Bamfield, matron of honor, appeared in a wiUow green gown of peau satin. The simple bodice featured a scoop neckline and three-quarter length sleeves. The controlled skirt was centered down the back with satin roses. A half-basket of gold filled with rust, deep red, gold and yeUow pompom mums accented with bitter sweet comprised the bouquet carried by Mrs. Barnfield. A willow green peau satin half hat with a bouffant veil completed her ensemble. Miss Donna Kauffman, Libanon, Ore., and Mrs. Pat Nelson served as bridesmaids and bridesmatron. Miss Renee Meister was junior bridesmaid. All attendants were dressed identical to the honor attendant. Earl Lantemier stood as his brother’s best man, with Thane Custer, Pat Nelson, and Thomas Snell serving as groomsmen. For her daughter’s wedding, Mrs. Custer was wearing a beige satin sheath with bittersweet ac- . cessories and a white orchid corsage. Following the ceremony a reception for 230 guests was held at the Bethany E. U. B. church. Serving the guests were Miss Kathryn Smith, Lima, O.; Mrs. David Liby, Decatur; Mrs. E. Lantenier, Marion; Miss Donita Stetler, Fort Wayne; Miss Alaine Meister, Lima, O.; Miss Linda Stetler, Ohio City, O.; and Miss Vonda Custer, LaGrange. For a wedding trip to Texas the new Mrs. Lantemier was wearing a blue knit jersy with patent accessories and a corsage from her bridal bouquet. The bride is a graduate of Decatur high school and Mennonite hospital school of nursing and is now employed as a surgical nurse at the Clinic hospital in Bluffton. The groom is a graduate of Cen-

tral Catholic high school, Fort Wayne, and is an A/lc at Bunker Hill Air Force base, Peru. After November 10 the couple will reside in Bluffton. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Custer, 825 Winchester street, Decatur, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Lanternier, formerly of Marion. MRS. MERVIN PARRISH HONORED AT SHOWER A stork shower was recently given in honor of Mrs. Mervin Parrish at the home of Mrs. DonMoser. The gift table was beautifully decorated with a pink stork under a lace pink and white umbrella. Upon arrival the honored guest was presented with a Corsage of baby needs. Games were played and the prizes won were presented to the guest of honor. After the many useful gifts were opened, refreshments of salad, cookies, mints and nuts, served .in pink umbrellas, were enjoyed. JUNIOR HEART ASSOCIATION MEETS AT BUNKER HILL Ten Junior Heart members of Adams county left Decatur at 6.30 a. m.Friday for Fort Wayne, where they boarded a chartered bus for Bunker Hill Air Force base. Approximately 200 juniors and seniors, members of the Northeastern Indiana Heart Association, attended the day of fun and learning. The purpose of the meeting was to learn the duties as members of the Junior Heart board. Die ninth annual fall meeting was held at the officer’s club at the air base. The program included greetings from Colonel Frank O'Brien, commander of the 305th bomber wing; talks by David E. Livengood, junior coordinator on “Operation Junior Heart;” Wayne Frakes, area director of the Indiana Heart Association; Howard Morris, Indiana University school of medicine; and a filmstrip entitled “Youth in Action” narrated by John O'Connor. After lunch in the officers’ club, an election for junior heart queen was held. Miss D’Lee Long was chosen queen with Susan Harper and Karen Brown as princesses. Following the election a tour of the base was conducted.

RUTH AND NAOMI CIRCLE MEETS IN CHURCH PARLOR The Ruth and Naomi Circle of the Zion United Church of Christ met in the churcbiparlor for their monthly meetinß The meeting was opened by prelude By Mrs. Harry Frauhiger? Hie group then sang, “Give Me Thy Heart,” followed by scripture taken from Luke 1 and 3 and read by Mrs. Robert Kiess, leader. She then gave the lesson on the history and present condition of Taiwan. Hie business meeting was conducted by the chairman, Mrs, Viola Kirchofer. Mrs. William Feller was appointed to purchase articles for the world community day project, Nov. 1. It was reported that 37 social and 18 sick calls were made during the month by the members. Seventeen membvrs and one guest, Mrs. Alma Reppert, were present. The meeting closed with the Mizpah benediction. Two Are Arrested > On Traffic Charges Two drivers were arrested this past weekend by the city police and cited into justice of the peace court?* David W. Roop, 18, of 319 N. 11th St., was charged with improper registration at 4:40 p.m. Sunday. He will appear in J. P. court at 7 p.m. Nov. 6. Richard Allen Deßolt, 26, of 235 N. Ninth St., was arrested for reckless driving at the intersection of Fourth and Monroe streets.
