GALS AND PALS HOLD OCTOBER MEETING The October meeting of the Gals and Pals Home Demonstration club was held recently at the Pleasant Mills school. The meeting opened with the members repeating the club creed. Adams county Home Demonstration Patsy Leaders, gave the, lesson on herbs. She pointed out that a herb garden does not require much care except in dry weather when it must be watered. Mrs. Herman Kelsey followed with ah interesting health and safety lesson. Business and coming events were discussed by Mrs. Norman Young. RoH call was answered by 26 members. The Lorraine party will be held November 4 at 7:30 p.m. with the place to be announced later. The meeting closed with the group enjoyed the herb cookery snack that Mrs. Leaders provided. Mrs. Richard Moses will be hostess to the Root township home demonstration club Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 19, at 1 o’clock.

MISS GAYLE CUSTER HONORED WITH SHOWER Miss Gayle Custer, bride-elect of Raymond Lanteneier, was hon-' ored with a kitchen shower given Thursday evening by Mrs. Spencer Andrews and Mrs. Richard Baumann at the latter’s home. Upon arrival the bride-to-be was presented with a corsage of mums. The gift table was decor-* ated with a miniature bride and groom, umbrella, pink crepe paper and white wedding bells. Games were played and prizes won by the Mesdpmes Wilson Beltz, Clement Shell, Lloyd Bowman and Kenneth DeArmond, who in turn presented them to the guest of honor. Refreshments Were then served to the guest of honor and the Mesdames Glen Custer, James Wall, Waldo Stetler, Edna Spahr, Clement Snell, Pat Nelson, Kenneth DeArmond, Wilson Beltz, Paul Lillich, Amos Ketchum, James Hurst, Lloyd Bowman, and the Misses Linda Stetler and Edith Mattax. Unable to attend but sending a gift were the Mesdames Francis Ellsworth, Everett Hutker, Howard Raver, Decatur; Hubert Custer, Spencerville, O.; William Gernand, Fort Wayne; and Lucy Custer, Ohio City, O. triennial meeting AT MIAMI BEACH October 21 through 25 a triennial meeting of delegates elected by local Girl Scout councils, members of the national board of directors, and others whom the national council itself may elect will be held at Miami Beach, Fla. Its duties include direction setting for the entire organization, election of national officers, action on proposed amendments to the constitution, etc. They will also hear reports from the national board of directors on work that has been completed or is in the process of completion. This year the focus will be on the future and the emphasis on the girls and the program. The number of delegates each council is entitled to send depends upon the number of girls registered in. the council. Delegates elected to represent the Limberlost Council are Mrs. Ben Meek, second vice president of the council; Mrs. Odd Christensen, troop leader; Mrs. Naomi Bodie, troop leader; Mrs. A. C. Flowers, member of pipgram committee; Mrs. Don- . aid Spears, district chairman; Mrs. Doris Williamson, troop leader; Miss Jean Azadian, executive director; Mrs. R. Courtland Carpenter, district advisor; -and two senior Girl Scouts, Peg Geyer and Cindy Coles. The Rosary Society will meet at the K. of C. Hall Monday evening following church. A program is planned to include a demonstration on how to make rosaries. All members are urged to attend. SUNSHINE GIRLS ENTERTAIN FATHERS The Sunshine Girls ot Adams Central entertained their fathers at “Daddy Date Night” Tuesday evening. Games as a mixer, and a sack relay and number basketball were the highlights of the evening’s entertainment. Refreshments were served by the refreshments committee and their fathers, the latter dressed as chefs. The committee consisted of Richard Clark and Jeannie, Floyd Engle and Gloria, Clark Smith and Debby, and Carl Hirschy and Diana. WARD CALLAND SHOWS SILDES OF RUSSIA Mrs. Eithel Ray presided over spedial interest meetings of the Jolly Housewives Home Demonstration club Tuesday evening and opened the meeting by leading those present in repeating the club creed. She also offered the devotions and read a short article entitled “Thank God,” The citizenship lesson chi divil defense was given by Della Johnson. The members were reminded to come masked to the next meeting which will be held at the Hanna-Nutt-man park shelter house, October 29. Following the business meeting the 23 members and three guests enjoyed a talk by J. Ward Calland, who also showed pictures of his trip to Russia. The Historical club will meet at the home of Virginia Hazelwood, Wednesday at 2 p.m.
