tri kappa associates MEET AT GERBERS The Associate chapter of Tri Kappa met for a business and social meeting at the home of Mrs. Carl Gerber Tuesday evening, with Miss Dorothy Schnepf, president, conducting the business meeting. Plans were completed for the annual rummage sale which will be held Saturday, October 19, in the Brodbeck building. An invitation from the active chapter was received, inviting the associate "members to a Halloween party at the Legion home Tuesday, Oct. 22, at 8 p.m., with reservations by Oct. 18 to Mrs. Kenneth Gaunt, 3-4459. After the close of the business meeting, a delicious dessert was served by the hostess, assisted by Mrs. Ward Calland and Mrs. Linda Townsend. Games were enjoyed for the ■ balance of the evening.

CALVARY LADIES AID HOLDS RECENT MEETING The Calvery Ladies Aid met recently at the home of Mrs. bessie Johnson for their regular meeting. The meeting was opened by the group singing, “Wonderful Words of Lase.” Devotionals were read from Psalm 122 by Mrs. Dessie Johnson followed by a prayer delivered by Mrs. Annabelle Lichtenberger. The minutes were read and roll call was taken. A short business meeting was held, followed by a program of singing “Jesus is All the World to Me.” Readings were given by Mrs. Louis Drake, Mrs. Carl Lichtenberger, Mrs. lona Shifferly and Mrs. Harry McDermott. Refreshments were served by Mrs. Dessie Johnson, assisted by Mrs. Betty Knittie. Trade in a good town — Decatur.

A chapel-length white satin gown with empire bodice was selected by Miss Joyce Louis Fuelling for her marriage Saturday afternoon to Ralph E .Marguardt. The ceremony was In the Monroeville Methodist church. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Parnell Fuelling and Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Marquardt, of Monroeville. Pearls traced the gown’s high waistline and flat front, set off by a portrait neckline and long sleeves. The bride’s ivory Illusion veil was caught to a forward cabbage rose of lace crystals and seed pearls and she carried a bouquet of white mums and roses centered with a yellow-throated orchid. • Miss Jerry Stephenson was the matron of honor in a gown of royal blue peau satin. The sheath skirt was topped with a floor-length overskirt. She wore a matching pillbox with bow and circular veil and carried white roses and bluetipped carnations. Bridesmaids were Miss Judy Marquart, sister of the bridegroom, Miss Jane Fuelling, cousin of the bride, and Mrs. Ronnie Gamer. They were attired as the honor attendant in gowns of Lucerne blue. were seated, by Jerry and Gary Marquardt and Charles Rober. The wedding dinner was served at the Four Seasons restaurant in Decatur and the reception was at Besancon hall. The newlyweds will reside in Monroeville upon their return from a honeymoon at Niagara Falls and in New York state. EAGLES AUXILIARY INITTCATES MEMBERS The Eagles Auxiliary met recently with 11 members present and initiated six new members in the society. The new members were Marjorie Shell, Beulah Ainsworth, Almeda Snyder, Sandra Chilcote, Phyllis Raudenbush and Joan Davis. Fem Augsburger received the door prize. A five dollar donation was given to the Decatur Community Fund. Plans were made to attend the district meeting, to be held at Columbia City Saturday, Oct. 12. Those auxiliary rh embers wishing to attend the Columbia City meeting were asked to call Fern Augsburger at 3-4503 or Lucile Bodie at 3-4780. Sandra Chilcote was elected vicepresident to replace Agnes Baker, and Marjorie Shell was elected trustee to replace Ellen Butcher. The meeting was closed to reopen again on October 29, at 8 p.m. at the home of Fern Augsburger. A Halloween party will be held at that time.

(UPD — Three gunmen who left three employes of a fur store tied in a vault fled Wednesday with an undisclosed number of mink stoles. An employe of the Model Furriers Co. told police the three men entered the store and asked to see some furs. He said they drew pistols while being shown “the best line in the shop.” After tying the employes in the vault, the bandits fled in an old station wagon.

Airman 1/C James William Boerger, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Boerger, route 3, Decatur became the husband of Edna Jean Brewer, Coos Bay, Ore., in a double rihg ceremony performed August 30 in the First Baptist church in Coos Bay. The bride’s wedding gown was floor length taffeta enhanced with lace neckline accented with sequins. Sequins also sparked the panels of lace in the skirt. Her fingertip veil was caught by a tiny pearl tiara, and she carried white stephanotis centered with an orchid arranged on a white prayer book. Attending the wedding, in addition to the bridegroom’s parents, were Mr. and Mrs. Norman Felger. Fort Wayne. Northern California was the honeymoon destination of the newlyweds, who are now making their home at the L & M apartments, North Bend, Ore. The bride is employed at the Coos Bay branch of the U. S. National Bank. Her husband graduated from Monmouth high school and has attended Western Oregon TWO MISSIONARY CIRCLES ARE FORMED The Church of God Missionary Society and Friendship club met recently in the Fellowship hall to form two missionary circles. New names for the newly formed circles will be announced at a later date. Mrs. Willard Landis presided during the business meeting. Plans were discussed for the groups to attend a fall rally October 15 in Richmond. Those members planning to attend the rally should be at the church by 7:45 a.m. next Tuesday. An election was held with the following results: Missionary Society officers: leader, Mrs. Holman Egly; co-leader, Mrs. Floyd Mitchel; membership chairman, Mrs. Lucille Miller; project chairman, Mrs. Elmer Scott; worship chairman, Mrs. Guy Aglet; secretary, Mrs. C. W. Strickler; treasurer, Mrs. Joe Mcßride.
