South I Bend, died two hours after a car in which she rode with Orville t Dußois, 19, South Bend, ran off a city street near the business district. Dußois who was injured, faced possible charges of reckless homicide. i 1 A Terre Haute pedestrian was killed Tuesday night after dark. ' Earl Baten, 43, died about a half hour after he was struck by a car driven by Connie Bennett, 20, Terre Haute, Miss Bennett was hospitalized for shock for a short time following the accident. Robert Kyle Chapman, 21, Tipton. died Tuesday of injuries suffered Oct. 5 in an accident which killed outright driver, Lionel Stephen Tyra, 19, Tipton, in downtown Tipton. Decatur high school athlete, was sevgrly injured and five other students were less seriously hurt in an auto accident north of -Fort Wayne while enroute home from the Decatur-Garrett football game al Garrett. A joint program of the Decatur public and Catholic schools will be held at the D U.S. auditorium Oct. 27 as a feature of the Navy day observance in this city. Cjty and state highway officials have issued appeals to Decatur residents not to burn leaves on black lopped streets here. The Decatur Yellow Jackets and Garrett Railroaders battled to a scoreless tie at Garrett. Allied forces , are reported gaining at key points on the Italian front.
