Suffers Bruises In Falk From Bicycle A Decatur boy was rushed to the local hospital Tuesday at 7:30 p.m., when he fell while riding a bicycle. Patrick E. Kehney, 803 W. Monroe St., suffered bruises to the hand and hip when he fell off his bicycle at Eighth and Monroe streets. He was x-rayed and later released. Hie city police were called when it was thought the boy had been hit by a car operated by Mrs. Roger Swaim of Bluffton. Investigation, however, showed that the boy had merely fallen as the car was passing him. Certificates Given In Swimming Courses The Adams county chapter of the American Red Cross has issued certificates to 18 students who completed swimming courses at Pine Lake during July and August. The courses were taught by Mrs. Glen Scholer. Pam Balsiger, completed her work in the intermediate and swimmer classes. Receiving beginners certificates were Sara Kaehr, Debbie Everett, Sarah Geimer, Jane Bryan, Tim Steury, Leon Roe, Myron Kaehr, Steve Gerber, Stephen Mailer, Barbara Sheets, Gretchen Leyse, Beverly Kipfer, John Wagley;, Dave Carver, Jan Nussbaum, Steven Lyons and Danny Funk. Thefts Reported To Decatur Police A stolen car report was filed with the city police department shortly before noon today. The auto, a 1959 Ford, two-door and brown in color, was stolen from the used car lot at the Bill Zoss Chevrolet - Buick on 13th street sometime Monday evening or Tuesday morning. The police also received a report from Gary Ross, 227 N. 16th St., that the license plate had been stolen from his auto. The license plate was 1A 409, and there is the possibility of the car and license plate thefts being connected. tThe city police are investigating. Fort Wayne Infant Is Burned Fatally FORT WAYNE, Ind. (UPI) — Nine - months -old Robin Marie Fritz burned to death in her crib late Tuesday when fire from a grease-filled skillet swept the trailer home of her parents. Mrs. Raymond Fritz told authorities she left the skillet on a kitchen stove burner while she went outside to hang clothes on a trailer court community line about 200 feet away. She said she saw smoke from the fire and that she and Mrs. Janice Fritz, her husband’s sister-in-law, tried to enter the trailer to rescue the baby but the heat and flames drove them away.

‘Society EVENING CIRCLE ENJOYS POT-LUCK DINNER The Methodist Evening Circle of the W. S. C. S. met at the home of Mrs. Robert Smith for their opening meeting. A pot-luck dinner was enjoyed by the 16 members present. Prior to the meal, Mrs. A. C. Underwood said grace. Mrs. J. F. Azbell assisted the hostess. An organization meeting was presided over by Mrs. Smith, chairman of the circle. Several new members were introduced, followed by devotions given by Mrs. William Mann. The meeting closed with the “Lord’s Prayer" and the Mizpah benediction. The next meeting will be held October 8 at the home of Mrs. Ralph Allison. Mrs. Richard Collins will be in charge of the program. The Sunny Circle Home Demonstration club will meet at the Preble recreation center Tuesday at 7:30 p. m. 24 ATTEND TRINITY BIBLE CLASS MEETING The Trinity Bible class met at the church Thursday evening. The meeting opened with the group singing various hymns. The scripture lesson, Psalm 24, was read by Mrs. Emma Barkley, followed by prayer offered by Mrs. Roy Taylor. Reports of the sick and shutins were given. The members of the class were invited to the parsonage to see the new drapes and wall paper. Refreshments of home grown melons were served the 24 members present by Cecil Harvey and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Harvey. Robert Myere, and baby girl, Mrs. Fred Bixler, Berne. c Two Decatur Men Jailed On Warrants Two Decatur men were jailed on warrants this morning, and one later appeared in court. Both were picked up by the city police Clarence Roop, 52, of 228 W Madison St., was taken into custody on a warrant for failure to provide. He appeared in court before noon today and was placed on probation for two years and ordered to pay $7.50 per week support payments. Charles Eyanson, 63-y ear-old resident of 218 N. Reports Articles Stolen From Store Mrs. Kathryn Helm, 318 N. Tenth St., reported a theft of several articles from a store at her home to the city police Tuesday evening. Mrs. Helm reported that six key chains, several necklaces, six friendship rings, two book markers and several ball point pens were stolen. The city police are investigating.

Alfred W. Kettler To Head Foundation > FORT WAYNE, Ind. (UPI) — Alfred W. Kettler, Fort Wayne, was named president of the Fort Wayne - Indiana - Purdue Foundation in a meeting here Tuesday. J. A. Franklin of Indiana University was reappointed secretary and Lytle Freehafer of Purdue was named treasurer. ■

The Rev. and Mrs. Norman Kuck, of Preble drove their daughter, Alison, a 1963 Decatur high school graduate to Ann Arbor, Mich., where she is enrolled at the new Concordia Lutheran Junior College, whose buildings will be formally dedicated Sept. 29. The school is the newest in operation by the Lutheran church-
Missouri synod. Miss Kuck will take the pre-teaching course and plans to enter the teaching program of the synod’s parochial schools. Mr. and Mrs. Phillip D. Rambo recently returned to Bloomington after a short visit with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Rambo. Decatur, and Dewey Plumley, Monroeville, and other relatives. Mrs. Rambo graduated from Indiana University in June and has accepted the position of teaching
chemistry and general science at the Smithville high school, Smithville. Rambo is returning to Harrodsburg where he will be teach-er-principal for his second year at Harrodsburg school. They reside on route 5, Bloomington. Mr. and Mrs. John Dell of 5812 Aspen Drive, Great Bend, Kan., are the parents of a baby girl born August 14. The 'infant weighed 7 lbs., 6 oz., and was named Jennifer Ann. The Dells are former residents of Decatur.
